Maybe it's the angle, then. He looks awesome as far as color/contrast/contour is concerned, but he just doesn't seem quite omnious enough. Purely hypothetically, if you were to ever redo Chaos, I'd move the camera down a little bit so it's looking up. I'd do the same thing with the Grey Lord. Looking cool is only half the battle; personality is the other half. Chaos and his counterpart should appear magnanimous.
Did you already do Zed? Because he's not here, and I'm wondering if maybe you forgot to post him.

I associate the name 'froud' with a simpsons lawyer who was explainabout tax evasion and was obvious new and was calling it 'tax...froud..." Or something. Sorry Froud!

I always think of Brian Froud, the artist bloke who did a bunch of funky pictures that were the inspiration for the creatures in that very very cool film "The Dark Crystal".

No problem, Im grateful for any reference to my name on the Internet.
The only people sharing my name I can find are a potato wholesaler in Bournemouth and some janitor in an Australian museum.

Uh oh. Now I like the cold one better. Those fiery red streaks add too much noise and take focus from his head. I meant just changing the color, not adding more detail . . . but I'll trust your judgment on this one.

Hmm, maybe rather than reflect the light (which seems to give his helm a bronze effect), what if he DOESN'T reflect it, and he's just, like, this void of blackness...I mean, chaotic things can happen in the dark...you know, it's a light room full of people but then the lights go out and no-one can see and it's all running aronud and knocking things over and banging about (oo-er), and general umm...non-awareness of wtf is going on

.
