Can people stop commenting on the damn spam messages. Without a comment it is a quick click and delete.

With comments you have to then delete each comment individually aswell, or go into the moderator area and delete the thread. Personally I find it mildly annoying at home, bloody annoying at work whenI really am briefly just checking the forum to chill between company mail/website stuff loading

I thought you had admin priveleges Beo? Don't you get the four icons at the bottom of the thread? (Delete,Move,Lock,Split)

If you have these icons, just click Delete and the whole topic goes.

Yes, you go into the admin screen - that's more clicking at work (I say typing this at work, but then I dont have to wait for further pages to load to type into a box and press subit : )

Eh? You don't need to go into the admin screen, those icons are right there on the bottom of each thread.

Can the policy be set individually for each of the subfora here?

If so, we could make all real subfora read-only for guests and have a guest-book-subforum that allows even guests to post. Basically Christophe could port the Guest Book of the Encyclopaedia site to form the foundation of such a subforum.

I belive that might be possible using user groups, but have never investigated. I'll look into this once I've upgraded to the latest version of the software, maybe this weekend.

Right, that's it, all forums now have guest posting disabled

Each forum does have its own permissions, so we can create a forum for guest posting (I'm especially thinking of people who have had troubles registering or have their account go weird who then cannot re-register to post becuase their e-mail address is tied up)

Yes, a guest forum sounds reasonable. But at least one of us moderators should check it regularly anyway and keep it free from porn, lest any real registering problems might pass unnoticed. I think if you give all admins and mods here the authority to delete posts in the guest forum, even that should be pretty clean of spam at any time, because at least one of us is almost always checking the forum.

Just made this one guest posting - for technical bugs really, hopefully it won't get flooded with game download requests. For now I'm sure the admins can delete the stuff, if not can add a few mods to the forum too

just a question: why have you deleted "Sven"?
just because he was from Ukraine and had a porn-site, OR because he was spamming somewere on the forum? (like: "visit my site and meet hot girlfriends" with my www.something.ru site)?

Because his site link in his profile was pornographic -- this is 99% sure to be a spammer looking for link traffic.

If you know this person and he is genuine then I apologise and will gladly allow him to resubmit a registration, MINUS the link of course!

Really, who would link to a new site with a porn link? Since we do noy restrict age when you join, and poeple of all ages join and read this site, then really you have to think about what you link when you come here.

This is why I twatted the guest posting today - some spammer actually put up a picture - not a porn one, but could easily be testing the waters, at best they were spamming their own website on the RTC forum. Enough, much as I was completely against removing guest posting, I feel that was the line. Bloody spammers, I hate them and hope they die of VD

if so, check also "New Pandler" (mature gay couple) or Chapaev (free-sex-video). Both have 0 posts since months. You dont have to open their sites (I guess it would be risky!!!), just put a mouse pointer into their www site in the memberlist, so that the www site adress will be shown down the screen

I mentioned Svet because he was the newest member regisitered and so easier to check out. But they may be others that have slipped through. I generally check all new members profiles. This forum is no place for porn.
