It is Lor who is denied the player if he picks Plague/Skelar/etc. Was that what was meant?

What, really? Wow, so many times playing CSB, so many threads about it, so often looked at the dungeon file... And I still didn't know that.

yeah, there are 2 doors and one will close always. This means you cannot have Lor and Kazai in the same party. Even a mon ful ir will not blast the portcullis through..
makes sense to have plague and kazai (not lor)work together, they are kind of the evil characters you could say (ninja and skeleton /undead)

hmm. wonder what picks closes the door to kazai and not lor?-cannot check atm

Choosing Kazai will close Lor's door.
Choosing Lor will close Kazai's door.
Choosing Plague, Skelar, Necro or Deth will close Lor's door.

just another question on this topic. I seem to remember that if you just clicked on a mirror(plage, deth etc) you would hear a door rattling in the distance. It could even be more severe that´s if you turned into the corridor with plague and aroc, at some point there on the floor you would notice the faint door sound. (this had been the amiga version)

basically just wondering what choosing means in this context. Merely opening the mirror and looking inside without selecting, or really ressurrecting or reincarnating..

Not sure. I think Beo's right and that looking is enough in original CSB, but in RTC I think the door closes only when you select a character.

Funny enough, i have seen a mate having Lor and Kazai in his party - was ages ago and the Amiga version. Don't know how he did it, though. I never used any of both anyways, so... In almost every CSB game I chose Itza and Petal.

Definitely not possible in an unmodified game to have both Lor & Kazai. He either edited the dungeon or made a party using the Make New Adventure facility and used their portraits :-)

As gambit said, it's possible in RTC version. I do not know about original CSB but perhaps... If he killed all but one champion after taking one of them, returned to the main hall, did the ghost bug (get last champion killed while looking at mirror), retrieved another of the super champions, and then moved his party into main dungeon?

Well I was bored, so went for a stroll - through the dungeon with Tiggy (reincarnated). Got to the worm level and realised did not have enougth strength to hack that first door down. Would have been a long train, so I restarted with Boris, who is kinda similar but a bit more strength.

Well it is refreshing to use magic! And he wasn't quite the wet lettuce I imagined, he used the swords very well, hardly missed, and was suprisingly stamina efficient: better than some of the fighters even. Wasn't meant to be a speed run but I don't like to hang about - the internal clock in CSBWin showed 75 minutes when I had completed it.

Muscle is still the way for the very quick runs, as sleeping to top mana up adds too much time.

If anyone wants the playfile just email me (I recorded it)

Hmmm... I don't remember having any problems with that door on the worm level in my solo run with reincarnated Tiggy. Perhaps my memory cheats me. Or I finally found something I'm better in than PaulH. :) :) :)

Can't you just fireball that door or will it only give in to some percussive maintenance?

Wait a minute...

Is this still on the 'reincarnated to CSB' thread, you know, about the 'worst single hero pick in a game of DM'...
...or is this now a discombobulatory thread of CSB disfunctioning forum kypers?

I'm actually wondering how to spell 'kypers' at the moment, in case anyone is really wondering.
You bunch of 'booger' infestations, from a flea and tick kennel!
Er, I mean 'YOU' as an INDIVIDUAL 'all encompassing' term, as I'm sure all of YOU know.

Hey, waitaminute, uh, er, did one or more of you 'read my mind' and give me a question I couldn't answer?

For that matter, I have a question...

Why for can he did go? :P

I'm considering going over to the CSB section, with intent to start a whole slew of threads on DM.

P.S. I'm actually enjoying the thread. I just decided to derail a runaway train.

EDIT: I had a few beers today with my good friend (yes - during the lunch, and during my work time, yes), but I still can't understand this post. Maybe I need more beers. Probably.

WHAT?!?!?

Here if you drink a beer it certainly does not make you understand anything. And you might well get fired from the job. How dare you Jan?

UK is the same, depending on your work you might get away with a few beers at lunchtime, though it wouldn't be accepted to do this all the time.

Choose Duckman and run for 15 kms (ca 9,5 miles) in 1 hour and 30 minutes! Or choose me and run for 1 km (ca 0,63 miles) in 1 day and 30 hours! Then compare the results and give us a summary. :)

No, seriously, I don't know. Are there any champions you have not tried a solo-run with?

Quite a few! I have tried Leif, Hawk, Halk, Sonja, Hissa, Stamm, Boris and Gothmog I think.

Boris really was a suprise package! Might try Wu Tse - never, ever taken her.
