Haha.... No problem on this one, as it's one of my favourites.

That would be Trading Places!

Oh.... Even better!
I've loved them since i was a child.

That's from The Meaning of life. I always loved the line from the same part.... "If you're playing football or anything, try to favour the other leg!"

I haven't offered one for while, so i'll do so now...
Character 1 -- "Your mother ate my dog!"
Character 2 -- "Not all of it."

I know that's strictly a two liner... but the second compliments the first so well!

Yeah. There are so many parts to quote here... like at the beginning: "Is it a boy or a girl?" -- "I think it's a bit early to start imposing roles on it, don't you?"

I don't have any idea about your quote. Sounds a bit morbid but funny...

Yeah Jan... I love that one! Also from the same scene:- "What do i do?"... "Nothing dear, you're not qualified."
As for my quote... Spot on with the genre, as it is a horror comedy. I'll give a broad clue... Southern hemisphere.

CS... Yes indeed. One dollar!

Oh, it's from one of those 1980s US or Hong-Kong action movies. But don't ask me the actual title.

Isn't that Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid?

Oh, that's quite possible, Saumun. I've got all these movies (Karate Kid 1-X, Karate Tiger 1-X... or was it Tiger Kid...? There surely was a tiger in the title... and no, it wasn't set in Africa... ) completely mixed up in my mind. I remember these were among the first western action movies we could watch here after the fall of communism in 1989 - in English with ridiculous Czech subtitles, on suspiciously looking VHS tapes. :)

Actually, now when I think about it, I also remember first watching Rambo and Indiana Jones - it must have even been before the 1989 revolution. It was in a bizarre do-it-yourself Czech "localisation", the whole script read by one man with a strong central Moravian accent and completely out of synchronisation with what was happening on the screen. :P

I'm not 100% on that one because it has been a long time, but i seem to remember the kid catching a fly with chopsticks.

For fun, when I was away I asked the Zen master cook has he ever seen a person eat ice cream with chop sticks? he was amazed   just learned how to use them and was drunk and brave enough to do it.

What are you going to try next, cheese?

Hey Chaos...you're supposed to guess the movie, not give more lines

But you have it right :) I won't say what it is in case others haven't figured it out yet.

How about this one from a different movie - Take me to bed or lose me forever.

I guess this is not one of Chuck Norris' movies, is it?

An easy one: Ah, Venice...

Geez...totally missed your answer, sorry about that Saumun :)

And, Jan, the last one I posted is definitely not from a Chuck Norris movie :) Yours is familiar, but can't place it right now.

A hint:
Spoiler
"I knew it was you, you have your father's eyes." -- "And my mother's ears, but the rest belongs to you." -- "It looks like the best parts have already been spoken for."

You got it Chaos.

Still struggling with Jan's....I KNOW I know it - must mull it over to see if I can pull it out of my brain's archive :)

Alright, third and last hint but I'm really making it simple now:
Spoiler
"I told you: don't call me junior!"
(now thinking about it I've got a feeling that we've already had it here)

Aaaaahhhhh.... Didn't know Jan's from the first two, but from the last i think it's from Indy (last crusade) saying it to his father (Connery).

BTW.... A long time since i saw Top Gun, but i'd never have got that one!

Oooops, the Top Gun! I see! And of course you're right with Indy.

The point is it was the Greeks who gave the Trojan Horse to the Trojans, so technically, it wasn't a Trojan Horse at all, it was a Greek Horse. Hence the tag "timeo Danaos et dona ferentes" which you will recall, is usually and somewhat inaccurately translated as "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts". Or doubtless, you would have recalled, had you not attended the LSE.

Right up my street this one, as it is one of my favourite sitcoms ever.
Yes Minister i believe!

This being said... I must admit that i didn't catch on for the first two lines. It was the part about the LSE that nailed it, since it is a recurring put-down of Humphrey's.

Since nobody went for my last one (it was from Braindead), i'll try an easier one (i think).
"You're using coconuts!"

Coconuts? In Mersea? Coconut's are tropical! This is a temperate zone! Does this answer your question, Saumun?

And of course you're right with Yes Minister. It's probably my most favourite series ever. I always only watched it on TV so this year I "ordered" the complete Yes (Prime) Minister DVDs from Santa Claus ("Ježíšek" in Czech) so I hope he got my message and he won't disappoint me again - or, this time, I'd show him. :)

Bahh, Jan's beaten me by about five hours to the swallows-and-coconut one. Oh well...let me throw out a quote I happen to be able to think of...

"They must have looked something like...a roast chicken..."

Ameena.... I believe that is Mr. Arnold Judas Rimmer from Red Dwarf. Brilliant stuff! Especially the first couple of series (IMHO).

CS.... I get the feeling i've heard yours, but i've got nothing at the moment.

Saumun - It is indeed the late Arnold Judas Rimmer, BSC, SSC, in the episode "Waiting for God", from the first series :).
