I suspect this is probably real. It's really not "force fields" at all, just anti-missile defense on a very small scale!
Incoming radar tracks the object, then it shoots something-- probably a high-power, short-range laser, or perhaps a spray of projectiles-- at the target.

Yeah, it does seem like it has a detection radius (the forecefield wall) then it fires projeciles

For all who don't know already, that last link by Lunever shows the comic strip where my name Trantor comes from.

Just played the tutorial but I like it already. Faces looked familiar... I scanned the credits: Francisco Muñoz! Remember him? He made some DM avatars.

yes, we have his anime avatars in here. I found out later though they were just traced and slightly modified with color mostly. They match exactly to annother famous anime series that I stumbled across when doing research. I hope that is not the case for this project. It looks pretty good.. and free. However, I do see a couple familiar images. :S

I wonder if he'll ever submerge himself in a large spherical glass bowl and become seriously ill? That would be original....

Following on from the spore video a while back, here's an interesting article about user-generated content, plus an interview with Will Wright:

Im sure you've all seen this anyway, but what the hell, its possibly the funniest mistake in the BBC's history. A timeless classic!
