Ohh I saw that on HIGNFY the other night - I love the expression on his face when he realises what's going on

The amusing part of all this is that so-called "experts" on these news shows never impart any useful information or say anything particularly intelligent anyway, so had this not been made public as a massive blooper, it's doubtful anyone would have ever noticed.

Yeah they messed up twice there, it's not in that video but the interviewer said Apple Corps won when infact they lost... Oh and as stated on HIGNFY (Ameena might have picked up on this) the guy wasn't a taxi driver at all, he was at the BBC in reception for a job interview, I think it was for an IT job if memory serves me and his name was also Guy. Just a mass of coincidences that led him to be on the news! Doesn't excuse the interviewer's balls up tho...

That could be an interesting social experiment to see how people operate under unexpected pressure...
How many of you would blag it? How many would, live on air, say "Um, actually you've got the wrong Guy..."

Yeah I forgot about that - that she got it wrong about the company winning the thing or whatever it was. And the name of the job was something poncy like "IT-something-cleanser", or in other words "IT technician" lol.
And they showed the pic of that bloke and put a pic of the "real" bloke (ie the person they thought he was) next to it and they look NOTHING like each other...for starters the other dude is a COMPLETELY different colour lol.

Guy Kewney (the right Guy) posted this on his blog, and had me in stiches!
But let's admit it: of all the things you can say about me, one word that really has to be deleted from the list is this one: "Black." We're talking biometrics, here. We're talking about "twins separated at birth, only their mother could tell them apart"... NOT!
I'm not black. I'm not black on a startling scale; I'm fair-haired, blue-eyed, prominent-nosed, and with the sort of pale skin that makes my dermatologist wince each time I complain about an itchy mole. I'm a walking candidate for chronic sunburn damage. I'm really, really not black.
Here's a litte comparison pic, and for those who can't quite tell the difference, I've placed some helpful reminders underneath each pic:

That's bonkers -- but unberably cute too.

Playstation only?

I cannot help it, it somehow reminds me of Turrican.
Unlikely that such a game exists/ too complex I think (dividing blops)

yes PSP only. Loco Roco. it's deffinitely made to appeal to the masses.. enough difficulty and interest for men and all the cute power to try and pull in the girls. It should be pretty popular over all. I'd like to point out that I'm not saying the women are not interested in a challenge.. just saying some men would want a decent one in order to make up for playing as something fat and cute
"What? you want me to play as a fluffy bunny?.... well.. does it have rocket launchers?... oh... alright then"

ok, it does exist!
It seems this game forces the player
to rotate the view (upside down).
That is really bonkers!
Add an up to four player mode racing style element and (of course) allow for costumisation of your
blob beings (hair?, colour, hue, size, eyes, favourite fruit and special) and it would be really hefty fun.

The story is, this truck was overloaded with fourteen workers and traveling too fast on a gravel road. The driver lost control after almost being hit by a logging truck, went
between the concrete deflector and the guard rail, and came to a skidding stop in this
death-defying position

Microsoft have trumped Google (for the time being) with the latest Virtual Earth Beta offering "Windows Live Local". Superb quality aerial shots and "bird's eye" views from four angles. Extensive high resolution coverage in the UK - dunno about other countries. The interface is better than Google Earth's too IMHO (for local use). 2-1 to Bill's Boys, let's see if the No Evil XI can hit back in the second half...

I take it I need to "sign in" to get the actual pictures instead of just lines and solid colours?

No, the box in the left corner of the map allows you to switch between "road" "aerial" and "bird's eye".

I see, well it doesn't have better coverage that google earth in my experience.. at least not the one I downloaded. Other areas of the world are rather distant(the ones I checked) and even the UK ones are not any bigger.. they look like you're getting closer .. but they are just blurry.. which means they were scaled
I'll still stick with google.

I tried it last night and you're definitely wrong there, Cows! It's superb. I was looking overhead at all the house I've lived in, and from four directions no less. Much higher res that Google Maps (Photos) and for the first time can see my town -- Google hasn't added those images to it's database yet (well it hadn't last time I looked).
I've started a public folder on Windows Live Maps to list all the pubs in my town....

birds eye view is available for a handfull of locations in the states

In google you can rotato the camera and while it's not 100% accurate they have the larger buildings and mountains mapped to 3D objects so you can tell perspective. also it looks like this is 1 angle where are the other 3? Google was intuitive and I could go any which way I wanted interactively. The area I zoomed in on for the UK perhaps it was not one you were looking at but I didn't get any closer than I could with google. I went to canada and of course.. you can't even get in close enough to see the cars
I'll post some pictures in a sec

who got closer?

this is an area of Doncaster in the UK.. I just picked a random location in the UK to prove a point. and then rotated in 3D ... did a little dance on windows live's head... and hit the + sign on windows live.. to find.. oh no.. they have nothing closer.. awwww. In Google I can see my house and my driveway.. in windows live.. I can see the whole city but nothing more than that..

That's Tesco's car park in the center of town as a matter of fact, and in the windows live image, the bus station seen at the bottom left is now the site for "the only integrated public transport and retail complex in the UK purpose built under one roof" Here's an updated angle from my mapping program that outdoes the lot of them:
http://www.hoy-you.com/images/frenchgate.jpg
Note the crossing at the bottom of the image in the centre.
Oh and Google Earth is more fun and quicker than live - I love zooming out and whizzing the world around...
