Hang on a minute, Cow's just mentioned my name in his last post even though we've already had it, and Lunever has been mentioned twice too (once with a dubious spelling). And Beo just spelled Crimson Ghost slightly oddly.

Shouldn't the rule be ONCE ONLY and SPELLED CORRECTLY? Am I too pedantic? Do catholics shit in the woods?

Anyone who thought this exercise would rapidly increase their post count was rather mistaken...

Glad to see we're beyond the bottom of the well finally!

People, don't forget if someone finished their post with "..." it means it's deliberately unfinished and you must complete their sentence. If you don't mean for your sentence to be continued by someone else, please don't use ... Thanks!

Beo, I thought the love element you introduced nearly killed the thread there.... I'd try sticking to fireballs and badgers :P

Is it possible to have a negative post count, btw? Feel free to try it on my account.

LMAO, you think that after fletching hamsters, lurid descriptions of cave mouths, fart gags and general nonesense my cute and touching love story about a ferret, hamster and duck is one stage too far? : )

I reckon I will manage to get so high it will flip to a negative integer!

Heh, what a great post Fuzzface! Ending a classical love story, how sad! :D Mirth inducing, indeed.

How many times have we seen that story, eh? Boy duck meets girl ferret over tankard, but girl ferret meets handsome brave hamster during unexpected tunnel rescuing, love traingle ensues, boy duck gets jealous but girl ferret chooses boy duck, but then both are roasted alive by a grinning maniac with a fireball.

So shakespearian

Right, been having a chat with Cows and we think it would be better if we used more run-on sentences. So can we start to throw more unfinished sentences please -- this will definitely create funnier scenarios.

So, try to NOT finish your sentance and see what others can put in there. Simply add "..." to the end in order to let us know you want the next poster to finish.

By choosing to finish someones sentence you can also give a start to your own in the same post. However , if you also START a new sentence after finishing the previous one, you cannot also END the new sentence. So either a whole or two halves.. your choice.

NOTE: This doesn't work well if two people are posting at the same time, so PLEASE make the effort to do alast second check of the story thread before posting, as someone might have snuck in a post while you were composing yours.

I'm wondering if next year, should we make it that far, you could do the same thing again but with the following idea - You start off the story again, Gambit, but then add scenarios or characters to be included in each 'page' of the thread. Example:

1. Characters fall down well
2. Hilarity ensues
3. Characters formulate the plan to escape
4. Enter a room with a mummy and a hampster
5. Destroy mummy, hilarity ensues
6. A laundry basket attacks.
7. Chaos awakes
8. etc

So that way people can still put in their 'badger' infatuations into the thread, but we still have a simple story line to follow.

My tuppence.

Interesting idea ian, and well changed! Hopefully the lavatory can come back...

The 'first person posting changing' may be a pain and provide an opportunity to miss a second post, but then it avoids someone deleting a post that's getting replied to, and let's face it the first poster is in a more powerful position then to be able to alter thier post, and really without worrying about doing it fast because the story can still carry on
