Luckily, you blew the roll where it doens't matter :) Unless it's directly PvP (eg a lie and thew other player wants to run sense motive against a bluff) then you guys are free to RP how you want. If Ameena thinks that will calm her character, her character is calm. Die rolls are really for external luck factors. Shame, that probably means someone else is gunna be beheaded instead of saved by a crappy roll :(

Ameena notices Aurek's use of the word "friend", and feels a little more positive - if he's decided they're friends that quickly, maybe this is another she can trust more easily. Like Helm.
As the human talks about combat and mentions how they may "have" to fight things, she looks down at her tiny claws as he mentions them.
"I don't think my claws are much good for anything unless someone like you tries to grab hold of me with no gloves." she comments. "My teeth are better."
She looks back up at him.
"And...I don't think there's ever a time when anyone has to fight. There's always another way. Admittedly, that other way can sometimes be to die or...or be eaten, or something, but...well, harming others is never the only option. I...have fought things myself, on occasion, but only when I could see no other way to escape. And I only hurt them a bit, so I could get away. Or if they were someone like you with a weapon, I might try to make them drop it so I could run past then."
She gves him a thoughtful look, then glances around toward Haynuus and Westian, then back up at Aurek again, suddenly a little more downcast.
"Previously, I've been able to avoid people who I thought might be...violent." she continues. "But this time, I seem to be sort of...stuck. I mean..."
She isn't sure where to go from there - how to explain her feelings about Falkor's ruthless and unprovoked attack and execution of the aggressive and unpleasant Arbrut? And now it seems she'll have to go back, reunite with him since the now-larger group seems to want to all stay together. She'd have no problem with travelling that way normally, of course, but what if the same thing happens again? Why did it even happen in the first place? Maybe she should ask him. Maybe she should find out what made him attack in that way. Maybe...maybe she has some faint hope of convincing him to never do that again. Maybe they're not far from a way out - she'll certainly be keeping her nose alert for anythign that smells vaguely like fresh air. So maybe she won't be trapped in this position for much longer.
She realises that any of a number of things, from more guards like Drommal, to strange hostile creatures, to the poison remaining in her left hind leg, might result in her never getting out to the sun and wind and trees again, but for now she can only hope that some day she will reach the outside world again.

When Ameena mentioned that she'd always avoided violent people, Haynuus nodded to himself in agreement.

"No, fighting is never the only option, but at times it can be the lesser of two evils. Not fighting when something important is at stake - like the lives of innocents - can be a far greater evil, even if it does not feel like it."

"Now whether our previous battle was such a situation or not could definitely be questioned. There certainly may have been danger. But whether our actions prevented an imminent evil act - such as the soldiers leading us to our deaths at the hands of some mage - we will never know. I have not had time to think to much about it, or to question what has happened. All I know is that I don't feel very good about it. And right or wrong we will have to live with what we have done."

With that he bowed his head and murmured "Lord Larethian, if we have strayed from what is right lead us back to you. Guide our actions, and show us what is right." Opening his eyes he looked at Aurek "Ameena mentioned saying a final prayer over the dead. Perhaps we should do that on our way back." Looking at Ameena he added "If we go back, I do not wish pressure anyone."

OOC Prayer was just RP, not a 0-level effect

Ameena wonders exactly what Westian defines as "evil", but decides to let it rest for now, since she knows that some people can get rather worked up when talking about the things they consider "evil", and doesn't wish to potentially provoke an argument.
She lowers her head slightly. Since she's been standing on all-fours this time, her head can't really get much lower without her nose brushing the ground.
"I think...I think I'd better go back." she says. "If you're all staying together, I'd better stay too, for now. Anything is better than being alone. At least, for a murafu. As long as I don't have to...see that again...or smell it. I think those herbs will do the trick. I hope they will. And if...if you're still willing to carry me, Westian...I mean, I could walk through it, but..."
She gives a slight shiver at the thought of what she might step in, or whisker-touch, with her eyes closed. Anyway, she'd need to hold the pouch over her nose, and since she's not going to attempt walking on her hind legs till she's sure she's once again capable of doing so, that would mean a rather awkward trip across the room to whichever exit the group had ended up taking.

"This is good news!" And with that Haynuus took a step backwards into the teleporter. He really wanted to get everyone together again now, and push on.

"Good. Good. Of course I will still carry you. Just keep your eyes closed until I tell you that you can open them. And these herbs should do the trick" as he spoke he held the pouch up to his nose and inhaled deeply. "Phew! Yes, they should certainly do the trick!"

"Haynuus, is there a safe place for us to rest on the other side of the teleporter? Somewhat distant from...those who have passed on."

As mentioned in the OOC, PAssin might be down, but he doens't have much blood around him, it was all blunt force trauma, so the left hand side would be the best - especially given THinpas the sergenat is over by the door on the right

Strangely enough, listing the state of corpses has not come up in other D&D games I have played :D

Haynuus appeared back in the 3X3 room with a satisfying Zzzzzt!!

Getting less disorientated each time he throws his bodily molecules through the teleporter now he quickly takes in the situation of a dishevelled Helm - bleeding, a rumpled Falkor - after having practically died twice, and the knight who seemed to be almost normal. "Hi all, they'll come soon" and with that he bends down and picks up a leg of the corpse lying closest to the teleporter exit. Noting with satisfaction that it was still actually attached to it's body he walked across the room dragging it and initiated conversation with the knight.

"Not sure we've introduced ourselves." He said while leaving a smear on the flagstone floor. "The name is Haynuus. I'm here to help Westian, the cleric chap, with an important mission." He reaches the alcove/area where the RA keyhole his and then picks up an arm as well. "I'm really excited about it as it's a mission from God, and it's my first ever mission, and we're off to see the Wizard, and although I don't actually know what's going on I'm really excited about it." He hurls the corpse into the corner, out of view of people who may step through from the teleporter.

He returns to the other corpse whose name he's forgotten nearby in the doorway, with a sword-shaped hole in his breastplate, and continues his conversation. "We'll find your squire, don't worry about that. You have to tell us about him, as you sound very concerned for his well-being." He picks up two legs and starts dragging it all backwards. "For example did he choose you or you him or is it like a family favour or how do I get a squire by the way?"

Haynuus disappears for a moment behind the wall still chatting to himself and reappears in the doorway, wiping both hands on the top of his trousers. "Sorted!" he said with a half-orcish smiley :)

"Okay Ameena, are you ready?" He handed her the herb pouch, and got ready to carry her over his shoulder. "And remember, don't open your eyes or remove the pouch until I tell you."

Westian was unsure what areas had been explored on the other side of the teleporter, but given the fact that Helm had been found he made the assumption that the door to the right had been opened. Since he was eager for Ameena to avoid the sight of those soldiers who were rapidly approaching room temperature he turned to Aurek, asking "Is there a space to rest beyond the main room? Somewhere safe?"

Farel had been aiding Falkor is getting up, temporarily distracted from wondering where the rest of the party were. The hurricane that came through the teleporter seemed to bewilder the knight.

"Hello...ah...Haynuus," said the knight at large. Helm nodded and winced as the half-orc got close, but seemed more intent on the bodies being dragged. With groans the thief moved around the doorpost away from the commotion - leaving a blood stain where he had stood, though luckily not a fresh trail.

Farel seemed confused, moving as if to help the with the grizzly task, but seeing the half-orc managing well he simply stood looking confused. "A Wizard? That's...wonderful?

"My squire? Umm...he's the son of a friend, well, I suppose both his mother and father are friends. Dexter Forbes has been a fellow knight for many a year, and Maru I've known since childhood. Ardur is a good lad really. Perhaps lacking in drive, but that is why his father wished me to squire the boy. And truth be told, I find him a promising lad if his first instincts in presented with knighthood are not of romance in arms and armour!" Farel looks darkly. "Perhaps his percieved weaknesses by his father will be gifts. I hope the boy has fun fast and far. I...I tried to divert the soldiers when we were first captured and brought in. I hope the High Lords you are on a mission for look kindly upon the lives your mission now touch."

There we go, my contribution for the evening...hope LB is ok, and money should be back tomorrow - so ned to bring him up to speed quickly at some point! I think we're shaping up for you to be moving on tomorrow or Thursday.

Oh, and can everyone roll me a d20 please? :) Ameena, roll me two - the second for your next fortitude save!

OOC - Erm, Westian asked Aurek about safe places, not Farel - it was Haynuus who asked him. Westian's still on the other side of the teleporter from the room, over by where the Rock Monster was, with Ameena...

BIC - Ameena nods at Westian and somewhat hesitantly raises herself up onto her hind legs, reaching up for the half-elf to himself reach down and pick her up. She also, with her right forepaw, reaches out and takes the proffered pouch, ready to stick her nose in it once Westian's got her comfortably. She hopes he remembers about her left hind leg.

OOC - D20 rolls...first one = 19. Heh now watch as the Fort save is crap...omg ffs...4 (5-1) rofl :P.

Gah, I thought Westian had crossed over before speaking. Working late, call from my mother, call from a friend all one after the other = updating with less brainpower.

I'm even reducing the DC of the roll as this is one of those degrading poisons...and you still roll low! Ok, another 1hp lethal damage, but it won't feel as if the foot is getting worse again, it just feels as if the pain isn't quite finished but is fading - it's only in her paw now not the whole leg.

Westian bends down and picks up Ameena by the waist. Resting her upper body on his shoulder he made sure that it was her waist and torso that were taking the strain, and the murafu's four paws were free. "Ready Ameena? Close your eyes and cover your nose, we are going through now!" With that he walked through the haze into the room beyond. Not wanting to wait long in the main room he moved in the direction of the now open door to his right. "I assume it is safe down here?" he asked aloud.

OOC I rolled a 20. I hope whatever it is is incredibly important! :D

"Hey! You're back." Stating the obvious. "It sure is. You guys can rifle through the bodies I've taken down there as well." he replied with ignorant glee.

Noting Ameena's somewhat dishevelled state in Westian's arms he offered. "You know we need to find somewhere secure for everyone to rest. Guys?" He looked at the knight, but who knows where Helm had been scurrying. "Is there anywhere you've been to that we could lock ourselves in? Somewhere defendable at least?"

He offered each of his arms to Helm and Falkor who were both resting, to get up. "We're all coming along where-ever though."

OOC - A random d20 while it snows! :) (1d20=6) Uff, it appears to be wet snow.

Farel is distracted from his thoughts by Westian's question, and looks both releaved at the cleric's return but surprised at the cleric's arms. Farel shrugs at Westian's question. "We have not ventured far down the corridor, though it sounds as if an exit I know of is that way. Your friend here was under duress from the last soldier, but your companions managed to break the deadlock. The soldier escaped, but from the sounds of it he may be rushing to leave this place, not warn his fellows."

Helm shifts uncomfortably, looking to the figure of Ameena cradled in Westian's arms. "Is...is she alright?" he says with concern, not able to shift much from his standing position to look to the murafu's condition.

At Haynuus's question, Farel lends his own voice for an answer. "The only place I know of here is the room Aurek and I were taken. A study of some kind from the scrolls that littered the place. Usually guards would only feed me twice a day, but I fear the soldiers may come sooner if our escape has been reported. However, we left a soldier tied up there, and I do not recall a lockable door." Farel looks to Aurek for confirmation.

I'll alter the above depending on what LB can post - hope he's not too sick!

Helm stirs at the doorpost. "If...you have...cleared the main hall of the undead," he says to the group, "there was supposed to be a chapel nearby. Perhaps that would be a safe room...until we can decide how to...distract the soldiers posted at the entrance and...escape..." The thief slumped a little after the effort of speech. "Does anyone have any...water?" he asked hopefully. "Or anything...stronger?" he asks Haynuus in particular.

Sorry, quickly posted something I posted yesterday and saved. Have properly edited it now. Wasn't going to re-use it, but essentially the same questions have been asked (except by Haynuus not Westian) so the answers would be the same!

As Westian picks her up and holds her mainly around her middle, she manages to sort of hook onto him with the claws of her right hindpaw, making sure she doesn't stick her foot right through his clothing and risk scratching him. Her left hindleg she lets dangle free, since her paw still hurts, though she thinks the pain might be fading a little. It certainly doesn't really seem to be getting much worse - maybe the poison has almost run its course.
As she shoves her nose inside the pouch and holds it (the pouch) firmly in place with her forepaws, it occurs to Ameena that she doesn't recall ever having actually been carried like this before. It seems strange to her, that so many creatures regularly view the world from so high up. She remembers the occasional ride in a cart or wagon by some friendly soul or other, but not any experience of having actually been picked up and moved around in this way.
She doesn't have time to think of much else before Westian starts to move toward the blue hazy thing and she quickly scrunches her eyes tightly shut and buries her face in his shoulder, the one without the wound.
Everything now comes to her through her ears, since her nose and whiskers are busy inside the pouch, and her eyes she's keeping well away from whatever might be in front of her right now. She's extremely glad that she can't currently smell whatever's in this room, but can't suppress a slight shudder at Haynuus's mention of "bodies". So, more than one of them was killed, then. So much violence...
She then swivels an ear in the directon of a new speaker, and listens to his words among the sounds of other things, like Haynuus moving about, and the breathing of those in the room. This is a voice she doesn't recognise. Another guard, perhaps? One who decided to help them rather than fight them or run? From what he's saying, and from what she remembers of what happened right before Falkor started the fight, she deduces that this is probably the human who entered the room, apparently a prisoner, with the disguised Aurek at the same time as herself and the others arrived with Drommal and his companions. she also notes this human's mention of a possible exit, and can only hope that this proves to be true.
The one of the other people in the room speaks, and she galdly recognises his voice - Helm! So he's alright then! At least, to some extent - she can hear a clear strain in his voice that shows he's in pain, and most likely exhausted. She longs to run over to him and comfort him in the way of the Murafu, but for now can't even speak to him without removing her nose form the pouch. She does, however, twitch an ear in his direction as an acknowledgement, to show she's noticed him. She hopes that will do for now, and that one of the others will try to help him while she can't. She just wants to get out of this room so she can try to do something for him herself.

Helm noted the twitch of Ameena's ear aswell as the smaller movements of her breathing, but still looks to Westian concerned.

Helm aced his perception check for the twitch, but really won't recognise it as a sign of anything except life :D

As Aurek watches Westian pick up Ameena, as though she weighed nothing, and walk back through the haze, he followed close behind. Although momentarily dazed by the transfer, he regained his composure quickly, and shortly after his arrival on the other side, Westian asked him where there was a safe place to rest. But, given what Helm had said, he decided to agree, "If you wish to go a different path, then I shall be happy to follow."

OOC: Sorry for the lack of posts over the last couple of days :( I've spent most of that sleeping. Other than my chesty cough, I feel quite a lot better, although the cough is killing me slowly :P

You asked for a d20: (1d20 = 13... LOL! I'm crook and I'm the one who rolls a 13... hehehe :D )

"Wait. I do not wish to see more soldiers any time soon." Haynuus said to Aurek. He was concerned that the knight was right and a change of guard in the prison would occur soon. "You said there may be more guards, Sir Farel? I'm unsure as to the best course of action."

"Helm. The way we came from has been closed off by the soldier leader. He opened a pit as he escaped and unless we can get it closed again then we can only push forward!... We have rope of you want to try something though, as you've just mentioned a good place to rest."

Haynuus reaches into his backpack and pulls out his bota. "Here, drink some of this, Helm. We don't have much between us, but you need a drink. I have nothing stronger and our cleric now is now in charge of that precious flask!"

Falkor turned and acknowledged Ameena, he believed she would not be pleased to see him again so soon. "Can we get some rest before moving on? I know more guards may be on the way - but if we run into any now we may be too weak to defend ourselves?"

Falkor took a deep breath. looked at Westian and Aurek as if looking for them to take the lead...

Suppressing a smile at Haynuus's well-intentioned but poorly thought-out offer of searching the dead bodies, Westian simply nodded and said "Maybe later. But you go ahead".

"Yes Falkor, we should get some rest." In answer to Helm's question he replied "yes, she is fine now, but shaken. It would be best if we found somewhere to rest away from the scene of battle. Maybe down here?" he asked, indicating to the corridor on the left. He started walking towards that corridor, still carrying the murafu in his arms. "Does anyone have a light we could borrow? Just to check down here a bit."

"We certainly encountered no soldiers..." Farel hedged, however did not look hopeful. "I would not assume it safe, however."

"I would still recommend near the entrance," said Helm after gratefully drinking te water given.

Farel did not look convinced of that, either. "If you plan on resting, I think I shall explore further for the safety of the group." Farel gestured down the corridor on the right, through the door. "I fear I cannot hold still. I was caged too long in a daza in that cell. My body has enouhg energy and my conscience wills me to seek my charge."

Ameena listens to the conversation around her and just hopes that they'll agree on something soon. Preferably getting away from this room, for starters. She knows which direction she'd prefer to head, but can't voice that opinion without removing her muzzle from the pouch of herbs and exposing it to the horrible air of the room. So she remains silent. She feels Westian walking in his preferred direction and hears the direction fo the others' voices change as the two of them move. She just wants to get away from here right now.
She presses the pouch more firmly against her face and grips it tightly, scrunching her eyes as tightly shut as she can and gripping Westian's clothing with her right hind foot. She almost forgets to be careful not to dig in too deeply with her claws, but manages to keep control of herself enough not to accidentally risk hurting the half-elf or instinctively trying to wriggle out of the unfamiliar position.
