Okay, I have the Silver Orb and the Magic Box, however I think it's most likely that I don't have the correct item I need to be able to get the Wand, so I'm a bit stumped.
Also, do I have to defeat the Coutl near the start, because I haven't...

Yep - that's the next thing to do.
Assuming you now know what you're looking for from the above hints, go back through the dungeon and look at *everything* in it (not just the pickable upable items).
When you arrive at each item, think to yourself, "could this, or any part of this be used in the place I want to acheive the effect I want".
When the answer is yes, you've found it

Yeah, finding the "thing" for the "manhole cover" was very sneaky!
Gonna have another go at this tonight, wish I hadn't read the clues for the scorpion now, as I know too much and wanted to experiment!

Yup, this thread is evil and should be deleted! It's a puzzle game, once the puzzles are doen you can't replay itt without sever cranial trauma first!

Can I have another hint for the gold key please?

You may have noticed you can interract with more items than you think you can with DP. And in more interesting ways than normal interractions of just clicking your hand to a wall item.
Try checking out some of the items around that door, and using any options you can think of
Like slapping a torchholder with a haddock or something....

Ah got it. Thinking too DM.

Indeed...I will now say this is not always a bad thing either! Once you get into this dungeon surprising how much you forget to do something very DM-like!

Indeed.

I'm still stumped! I really can't figure out what I need to do...
I can't think of anything I've not tried, otherwise I would have tried it!
How DO I interact with that object on the roof to seal the poison shooters and retrieve the Wand?

by TheMormegil
I took the wand without stopping the poison shooters. Is this going to cause probelms later?

ZoKathRa: Hm. I'm not sure how else to help you. Do you remember this puzzle from Shadowgate? PM me if you really want a spoiler. I'm not sure what else to tell you. Maybe someone else has a good hint?
Mormegil: Not a problem as such, but you did avoid a pretty large puzzle. PM me how, please. It may be a bug!

I edited your message. Don't tell people how to do that.
EDIT: Except me. I tried what I thought you meant and I couldn't do it! What did you do?

Oops, sorry!
I'll PM you.

Sophia : I didn't really do anything. I saw the wand, saw the shooters opposite, thought 'better save here before i die picking up the wand' picked up the wand, poison shot at me and I didn't die...
I keep getting blown up when I put things in an alcove lower down though.. I thought the manhole might have something to do with it.

i'm stuck at the riddle room.
i have found 2 of the 4.
still stucked with :
- left/right
- bring/brought
i don't know how to get the chest

For the riddles, the only non-spoiler hint I can give is to look at the objects you have, and think of how the riddle would apply.
You might not have found the objects-- one of them is kind of stashed away in a corner, and the other requires solving another puzzle to get it.
As for the chest, I assume you mean the one behind the tree. This riddle has three parts, which part are you stuck at?

I think due to the RTC bug I can't complete this game and will have to start over -- and I'm pretty sure I'm nearly finished!
Is it true that a man of faith is always cross?

I think I know what you did, and it's not so bad. I sent you a message. Check that before you throw in the towel.

I saw your message and sent you the same thing in a crossover!
Still stumped though! I think I'm missing something else...

If you know exactly what a true man of faith would need, then you need to know how to hand-le it with the game

stuck

here's where i am :
- dunno how to use vi altar, it doesn't work on bones
- cannot reach gem hole because of a table
RTC bug applies on cloak, gauntlet, rubber boots.

by beowuuf
- bah! then try soemthign other thatn bones! you really are lazy!
- then obviously you need to move the table....you can do this at any time without the need for a special item

*bumping head on screen* how could i miss this one ?!!
Posted: Tue Aug 01, 2006 5:46 pm
by linflas
ok, i put my lazyness away for a few hours this afternoon and tried all my objects on the altar without any result.
- i've closed 2 alcoves in the riddle room, i still have to close the 'look upon..' one (but i think i know what kind of object is needed) and the 'i have t...' one.
- i found the flying eye but i guess the weapon that kills it is probably obtained from another puzzle.
- the couatl is still alive, i think i haven't found the right item yet.
- i cannot find the gold key, and i'm pretty sure that all my problems above will be sold if i find it !

Yes, the solutions to the problems you have encountered are rather interconnected. I'd recommend going for the gold key, next.
As mentioned before, it's not far from the lock, though it requires getting a bit creative, and not always thinking of things in a DM-ish way.

yes, i did read your post about this : i'm in the 3 locks room, trying to combine any object i own with any wallitem... but i think i don't have the correct object.
