Remap numpad keys to:

7,8,9 - turn, forward, turn
4,5,6 - left, back, right
1,2,3 - left, back, right

I'd map it to:

7 - 9 spin left, forward, spin right
4 - 6 spin left, forward, spin right
1 - 3 left, back, right

as the forward keys are the most used ones anyway

Thanks George for this new mapping.

Beowuuf: the forward key is indeed used quite often, but I use the right/left ones very often, especially at the end of a corridor (when the corridor has the shape of a S). I first spin, then "slide" (?), that way I can see if a monster is waiting for me or not, and I can attack it right away after sliding, instead of moving first and then spinning around.

Globally the mapping just goes "up" on the numpad, which is consistent with the mapping in DM IIRC.

Cheers,
Will

Is it too much problem to have the option for either set in the init file? Cause yes, thinking about it i always have my fingers on the forward, turn and slide for whatever direction i'm facing danger.

It may as well be one or other or both full mappings, the first proposal isn't intuitive for people used to 1 - 6 as i always find i lead with where my first fingers are..so if the only forward keys are 7 - 9 then i'd never use 1 -3
