Cursed Knights armor class too high?

I think cursed knight have very high AC. My 1st master fighter with strenght 58 boosted with spell to 70 using hardcleave hits about 1 time from 8 tries only and just for 5-10 health. As far as I remember knight wasn't so tough in DM, there was no problem to make them damage ~40 hitpoints.
