I wish The RTC package accepted joypad control. Besides the obvious atvantage, I am just not that fast on the mouse. Either that programable hot keys for attacking would be nice as well. Would be very easy to setup as well.. For example:
u i o p = First lvl attack ("u" being the first char "i" the second ect)
h j k l = duh
b n m . = final duh.
That is one feature I always wish FTL would of implimented, or least something similar!

the whole point of the mouse is really for picking up and putting down or moving items. also if you wish to aim something you plan on throwing it works well too.. it's just not something you could do that quickly with a joystick or keyboard.. Though Attack hotkeys are a good idea.

Well, keyboard/input customization has been asked for many times before, and I hope that George will implement somthing like that one day. If he should do so, of course hotkeys might be a nice addition.

well, there are some important details to the way the mouse movement worked on the snes. It snapped to location for most of the important parts, and the area where it was free roaming it moved smoothly and quickly and the space was very small anyway. that requires rewriting mouse handling routines for George I would think and having it in the options to turn on and off. you turn on mouse keys in windows and tell me how good you are with that.. most of the time it's a pain in the arse for me when I have occasion to use it. I use a tablet as my main mouse so it needs drivers before it works so sometimes those drivers can be intterupted by security programs like Zone alarm and I need to use mouse keys to get control back. it goes slow then zips into a faster speed and if you stop you have to go through the slow then fast again. most certainly not a precision tool. So for sure it means writing something from scratch, especially if you want it to work like the snes.
A mouse comes with every computer.. and even if they didn't you can get one second hand for about 3 bucks or less. if you turn up the mouse speed you can get it to move from spot to spot faster.. it's all customisable. I just don't see the practicality of implementing something like that but perhaps I missed something. why not try adjusting your mouse settings first and see if that works for you.
I still agree that more hotkeys are a good idea though.
