DMUTE AND DM FOR AMIGA PROBLEMS

Ok, alls I wanted to do was try dmute on dungeon master, but i can't figure any of this out. I'll start from the top.

No one seemed to know how to use Dmute with a ST emulator so I downloaded Amiga. I downloaded everything from "The Unoficial dungeon master page" and then Beowuuf gave me a place to download a kickstart rom. So now I open the fellow emulator, I put the dungeon master disk in the DFO drive and the dm save.adf in the drive DF1. Then I click start and it does'nt work. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, that would be great.

The other problem is when I open the DM v.360 into ADFOpus it gives me a bunch of files. I don't know which one to take out or how to do it in the first place!!! Same thing with the save file but thats pointless when the emulator doesnt work... hehehe If anyone could help me that would be great, the sooner the better, before my sanity fades completely away

~this would be the end

I downloaded WinAUE ages ago, and only ever used it once or twice...so I don't know if the kick.rom you got is universal and works with everything, or if it is just for winaue. With Winaue, i waited for it to boot, then you can actually drag and drop the file, which starts fine.

So I'm afraid your gonna have to wait for someone else...good luck with it all!

WinAue... whats that?

Yeah, whats WinAue???
Is that what you run DM off of?
If its better than amiga could ya give me a site to get it from, and possibly inform me how to use it?
thanks,
Zach

It's just another emulator like fellow and pacifist...a simple websearch will find it, but i fired it up again out of curiosity and I am having trouble saving a DM game even though dmsave is in the df1...so I'd hold off and perseverse with fellow...a lot of people see mto use it, anyway.

Just another emulator? It's the emulator! I've never had any problems with WinUAE at all - though it does take a bit of tweaking to get it right. Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub17.ezboard.com/ugambit37.show ... ambit37 at: 12/11/00 7:33:27 pm

I've never had anything to compare it to
So, have you had any problems with the dmsave in drive df1, still not saving?

And in that case, do you have CSB, and tell me what tweaks I'll need to make it run well?

There does appear to be a problem with the newest version of WinUAE - it won't save a DM game and crashes with a 'Software Failure' - (but if you're using an older kickstart you'll get the profound 'Guru Meditation' - Amiga freaks will know what I'm talking about).

Best bet is to go back to release 8.0.88 or whatever it was called. The latest one doesn't add many changes anyway.

Note: Part of my DM site will have instructions on getting emulators to work.

Ok, about Dmute...

I am trying to edit the dungeon/save game file for dm and I have ADFOPUs opened and I loaded the dungeonmaster gamedisk in there. I see a bunch of files that are .dat and .ftl. Heres where I am stumped. I do not know which file to pull out or even how. I can not find any buttons that let me cut or paste these files. I looked in the help file for opus and that didn't help at all. perhaps there are shortcuts? if so can someone tell me what these are.

thanks again
Zach

You need to open your SAVE GAME ADF, not the Game disk. Look for a file named DMGame.DAT and click and drag that file from the ADF window to the other window that's also open - it's probably called Windows or something. You can use the Up One Level button to navigate to different folders, which will allow you to drag the file somewhere else on your computer.
