So your prolly thinking, who the hell is this guy that suddenly dropped out of nowhere? (ok maybe not, but you get the idea <grin>)...

Well, im 26 years old from England, but moved to the US and now live in Chicago.

I started playing DM when it first came out with the parents of a kid I used to babysit for (I was like 14). Whenever I had a problem, I would take the saved game over to him and he would help me out.

I wrote all my own maps for DM, because I didnt have the internet back then so I knew the game pretty well.

so then I'm in bed one night, and I think, hrmm dungeon master, havent played that in a while, wonder if its available on the PC!

And here I am today! Still a DM freak, but interested in the developments of it over the last 14 years!

As Beowuuf already noted on a previous post, there is a very large Dungeon Master website run by ChristopheF which is called the Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes back Encyclopedia. It can be found at:

RTC (Return to Chaos) is a clone being written that will offer both Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back for the Windows platform. It's written by George Gilbert who also wrote DMute - a Windows based map editor for PC DM. You can get both of these from here:

There's also a Java version of Dungeon Master (well, kind of). It plays like DM and uses the basic functionality but it looks and feels very different. It has it's own editor if you want to make maps.

If it's the history and development of DM that you're interested in, and are patient, I will have a new website on-line by Christmas which among other things will have a lot of background info on all the DM games, as well as other unique information.
