Hey long time no see! I was just wondering if there was finally a hacked or rewritten version of DM that works with sound under windows? I think this is the biggest thing that should be worked on, because many people are moving away from dos and with every computer upgrade, the chances of a PC coming with a soundcard that works with DM decreases. Has anyone heard anything on a rewritten version or perhaps some sort of "patch" that can be used that allows any sound blaster or compatible card to work? This would really be wonderful.

Geoege has written a clone, Return to Choas, that is a faithful DM clone, so yup..full sound! Plus a few cool touches.

And best yet, it will be fully customisable..

Also, CSB will be available on it too.
But if you can't wait, there is a port of CSB for windows now!

NO work in that direction has been done...the nearest is a full boot disk available so you can start your machine in DOS with full soundcard support

Thanks Beuwuff...

DM/CSB encyclopoedia has all the links, plus the CSB4win clone:

http://dmweb.free.fr

George's RTC has it's own messageboard, with the download link from that:

There is also Alandale's DMJava that finally saw the light of day, and is fully editable, and has some cool features:
