Dungeon Master Forum

I've run into several DM fans while webmastering a popular fan site in the Bungie fan community. (they made Myth: The Fallen Lords, and will be coming out with Oni and Halo this year)
The thing I'm wondering is this... There are plenty of open-sourced engines out there now. Has anyone ever thought about recreating the DM experience using newer technology? If one wanted, one could even use the original levels as a template.

Dungeon Master was the ultimate game on my Atari ST back in the day, somewhere around a dozen years ago or more. It addicted myself, my brother and my best friend.
It's amazing that I was able to zip up Dungeon Master, an ST emulator and the TOS ROM file in about a megabyte and e-mail it to my brother. (As an additional Christmas surprise)
