How about a feature to remove a party member -- perhaps just temporarily (back to the mirror) -- thus enabling you to pick up another champion.

Lots of dungeon ideas come to mind here:
- hired thugs
- areas that can only be completed with one champion
- an area that only allows females to enter
(The last two would require some detection capabilities as well.)

Interesting idea as well. There may be a lot of different ideas coming up - although it would mean you'd have to go back to the hall of champions to do that.... and possibly lose all levels gained with that character? Or should they be preserved? Sounds tricky...
