To begin with, hello from France where Dunger Master is more than a living legend.
Talking about legends, Some people often refer to the fabled "secret level"...I don't know it this level exists or not but I am personnaly making a full compilation of all the most secret "secrets" for our community....if anyone want to help us, be welcome! Thanks a lot warriors and magicians!

Btw: What do you suppose as the strongest character choice?

Umm, there aren't really that many in DM, and I have certainly never head of a secret level.

There's an alternate ending if you take the firestaff to the front entrance (the original manual quest), there is a hidden character in CSB called Halk Gonzo Barbarian that you an only get by hacking the code, and is obviously a character used for playtesting by the designers that got left in. There is also an additional level in CSB, which is defined in terms of paramaters but nothing has actually been created for the layout itself!

DM for the Apple GS II had a 'kid's dungeon', which you could access by some keyboard combination when at the dungeon entrance screen - is this what you have heard about?

There are a few additional object in DM that never made it into the game, but are acessable through hacking. Some (like power towers, dexhelm, lockpicks) made it into CSB instead, others (like the Conduit, a magical staff that is identical in function to the Serpent Staff in CSB) are not found in any of the games! There are even some (non-functional) bombs and potions defined too.

That's about all I know (I'm also compiling secrets just now, though some of this is from memory so needs to be verified)

I feel a bit stupid, these are all on this site (in the updated tricks and tips section mainly)!
