Is it possible to transfer saved characters from DM to CSB?

I was wondering if it was possible to transfer characters that had been through the PC version of DM into the CSB PC version?
I played DM through a few times as a kid but when i borrowed CSB i never got it to work - I was gutted! Hence my excitement at finding this site and downloading CSB etc. Just hoping that it is possible to develop my own characters throughout the series. (Do they transfer to DM2 too?)
Thanks!
andy

I asked the question myself only some days ago and was told there is no easy solution. There's a forum entry in the CSB Forum saying you can use DMute but might have problems with the character pictures... and I think someone referred to a complicated way for that task, which was also supposed to have been posted here somewhere... could not find it yet, though :(

I believe this is possible. I'm going to work on it right now to see what I can do.

That would be fantastic, i am playing DM again for the first time for 15 years and hoping to get the same characters back to the same level i had the at and if possible take them on to CSB, which i could never get to work as a kid!
All help appreciated!

Unfortunately I'm not a programmer, but I think a tool that copies the stats out of a DM-savegame and overwrites with them the stats of an existing CSB4Win-Savegame shouldn't be too difficult to create. Anyone adept enough to do it?

At least it is possible if you play the Atari ST versions.
Try with Steem.
I think it is possible with the Amiga versions too.
