Has the Mirror of Dawn & the Magnifier any function or use?

Mirror of dawn, used in Chamber of the Guardian on the 3rd floor to open a panel to get the gold key. It may have another use...
The magnifier is used to get a key on one of the floors, however due to a bug in the game (on the pc version at least) you can use any item. It fits though, with the riddle "Enlarge my view".

However, coded options - no
They are just objects like keys and food otherwise - it's a dungeon mechanic that these have any useful function in the dungeon

The mirror is also the answer to one of the riddles in the riddle room (6th floor):

does anybody know what is gained from the "enlarge my view" riddle ?
left the damn "mirror of dawn" miles back on level 4 not realising it would be needed
now at Level 13 stuck with a master key and not much else

"enlarge my view" doesnt need the mirror, but the magnifier, which is on level 10, the scorp level.
the riddle gives you a ruby key which is needed on lvl 7, the tomb of the firestaff.
(i somehow feel as if i have read this somewhere before. nm)

yeah sorry about that amber but I got confused thinking that the mirror of dawn WAS the magnifying glass, I have been in this situation 3 times over the last 15 years - this being the third and this time I will definitely finish the game !!
did you ever "get to know" the amber from "Project Eden" ?
