Some questions (a little bit long, sorry).

Post by Miguel »

Hi from Portugal.
I played and finished the DM PC version released here in 1993. Although I lost all of my selfmade maps and notes I´m ABSOLUTELY shure that I had food spells - can´t remember about water spells but I'm certain I used the food spells and they worked - I vaguely remember seeing them on an old issue of PC Format, I think. Does anyone remembers these spells?
I also remember a code, but not how to use it, on how to give you infinite health . It goes like this , line by line : 1 - DEBUG 2 - >NFIRES 3 - L
4 - E 8900 30 5 - >W 6 - >Q .

I am now starting to play CSB for the first time. I´m playing with the 3.0 version for Win. but just discovered there´s a 7 version . Are there any dif. between the two ? Can I import my charac. from the version 3 to the vrs.
7 ? How ?
Also , I´m stuck with NO WATER just after the Deth Knight rooms (Executioner) and can´t get the water from the Vexirk room (Fountain) - Help !!!
Finishing , just let me say that although I´m finding CSB a GREAT game , there´s nothing compared to the felling I had playing DM - after all it was the first...
Thank´s to you all and please excuse my bad English.

Your English is just fine.
Version 7 is much better than version 3. You won't
notice the differences. But they are there.
No problem importing your old games and characters.
Just replace the .EXE file and it should all work.
If it does not then complain to me.

Unlike Dungeon Master ( I guess....I don't remember)
you must have an empty flask or water skin to get
water out of the fountain. It was not my idea....I just
translated.

I agree about DM being the better because it was first.
My heart used to pound when I peeked around corners
to see if any skeletons were in the room. But you will
learn to like CSB, too.

I have played an early Amiga version of DM1 and explored every possibility of that game, but I'm absolutely certain, that there were never any food or water spells. The only comparable game I know, that contained these very spells what not an FTL game, but the SSI game "Eye of the Beholder".

Eye of the Beholder is the only game (apart from EOB2 and EOB3) which I've seen a "Create Food" spell in :>. Admittedly, I've not played any Amiga version of DM, only ST v1.0 (and 1.2 and 1.3?) and PC version 3.4.

Thank you all.
I must repeat that I´m ABSOLUTELY shure that there were food spells in DM.
I´ll turn my house around to see if I find my lost notes ...
