Sounds like arsouille again.

If you want to check for an item, download Dmute from www. ragingmole.com, it is an editor able to analyze your savegame, with it's help you should be able to locate missing items.

DMute shows that there is one Onyx Key in the Atari
mini.dat. I guess the question is "were there two or
more Onyx Keys in the Amiga version?"

The answer is here:

http://dmweb.free.fr/CSBItems.htm> (ite ... mation.htm

"At (09,21,30), there is an Iron Key, whereas in the Amiga version it is an Onyx Key."

Thanks much. I hope he finds the answer here.
I will forward it if he has not.

Glad you mentioned "not possessed by creaturers".
A simple test confirms that DMute does not locate
objects in a monster's possession. Seems like a
good locator would be a nice addition to CSBuild.
