Secret areas in Kid Dungeon!

Hey, I'm one of those aging DM fans like so many in here. I played it as a kid on the Apple IIGS and as a result played through the kid dungeon many times. Just hold down option/alt as you enter the dungeon. Recently however, I have found some strange things. If you go into the shooting gallery and face the wall opposite the pits, cast oh ew ra and take a look, you can see a secret passageway! As far as I can tell, this isn't part of any of the regular passageways in the game! Also, if you go toward the stairs in the shooting gallery while looking through the wall, you see a stairway leading down! To check, I ran into the treasure maze with the annoying kleptos and looked through the walls down there. If you go into the actual maze, go into the lower left corner and look through the wall (facing the entrance), there's a stairway going UP! I have no clue what all this is for! Perhaps the DM team was building more onto the kiddie dungeon, but space/time contrainsts didn't let them finish, so they slapped walls over some places and called it good. Perhaps the kiddie dungeon rests in the same area as the regular dungeon and that's what I'm seeing through the walls. I get the same thing when running it under emulation (Bernie II the Rescue on my Mac, the BEST IIgs emulator out there.). Anyone know anything about this?

Nothing to get excited about I'm afraid.

The 'secret' passageway is simply part of the hidden mechanism that returns objects to you that you might have thrown over the pits to the mummies.

The stairs you can see are the linking staircase that lead to the dragon on the lowest level.
