Anybody knows/remembers anything like this ? Would this be the area after the cemetery (with the ghosts) ?

You will also find a well hidden chest full of gems beneath the ancient temple.

In the area with the ghosts (with the armor lying around and the random doors), the largest room (which contains a helmet, I think) has a wall with a removable boulder hiding a button. This is visible on your magic map, as I recall.
If you hit the button, the wall next to it is removed, revealing an alcove with the "chest full of gems" (there's also a scarab and some other stuff, as I remember correctly).
It's nice for blowing your money at the magic shop.
