Ok Ok on the first link, I did read the first sentences and then switch/switched the rest...althought I already played, I want to (re)discover the game as I don't remember much, hey what includes not viewing the stats of the creatures! (and BTW not the "advanced" manuals too)
On the second link you gave thanks for it, I know that at first I did not read ALL of DMweb.free.fr and I probably should have to (except the manuals...), but it's not the case anymore, and I did read that but it's not what I would like to discuss: (I know the general ideas on these stats)

I would like to know for you all - if you have something to discuss - how there are important, a life-savier maybie, perhaps you have played with cracked characters with 99 to both A-F and A-M and it happens to be great to help you surviving, that kind of things...anyway this post is a little questionning on some details like here and there. Little topic, switch if you feel you have nothing to share.

Your reply in the topic above* is extremely helpful, and so there would be a hidden skill for climbing hmm. At 4, you earn a new level, disregarding the advancement in the other skills. Very helpful for us all who did not caught the strange numbers in the DMweb skills at once and switched them to finally forget their existence at all...

*max level at end/EDIT

With boosted stats, or even when used naturally, spellshield (from teowand) and anti-m agic affect the damage from certainly lightning bolts, possibly other spells
anti-fire really makes a difference - an mon fireball cast by an archmaster can be shrugged off with about 25 - 50 damage if you have an insane anti-fire. i'm sure whatever calculation antu-fire is used for that fireshield affects, and fireshields can render fireballs much much less

What do you mean by "at 4, you earn a new level"-- 4 what???? please clarify

Beowuuf, i did not know : a-m --> resist lightning bolts.
a-m (in addition to wis) makes for a "resistance to ghost attacks" and some of these may attack your rear members.
This could be entirely wrong, but what the heck. You can improve a-m with wizard levels.
spellshield is a unique action you will find only with that special wand.around three uses...

shield spells are generally a good idea. Not getting hit is often even better. But be aware: there are no spells to improve a-m except for spellshield !!!there are two priest spells, one is a potionspell (one champion) and the other is a party spell, but these are merely "armor" spells, not a-m.

there is no potion to boost a-m or a-f stats, so grab all items you can get hold of to improve it.
there is an amulett that gives you quite much a-m... and there is an armor that you may find which gives you a-f.

i prefer a decent fireshield (the most difficult spell in the entire game, so maybe that is not much help). You are really invincible when you cast some in close succession.(they stack).
ANother way is to only choose one champion, or choose four and get rid of three(-->items). then you may change the position left side to right side and you won´t get hit.

Are you sure about anti-magic vs lightning bolts? I never found any practical use for anti-magic.

Anti-fire and fireshield spells do have the effect you describe. With enough fireshields, you won't even take damage when you throw junk in the fulya pit in CSB. Unfortunately, anti-fire doesn't increase much when gaining levels and there are few items in DungeonMaster that affect anti-fire.

One of the custom dungeons had a lightning bolt area and my charatcers were wimps. Walking through it normally killed me many times, even randomness for low damage didn't save me. Using the teowand I could get through without much difficulty.
