Game hangs seconds before fusion !

Hi Paul,
I was fluxcaging Chaos (already half a dozen cages around him) and had tried a couple of Fuses, and just as I was dancing around him, CSBWin hung up on me (program exits and docwatson error log starts generating) when I hit the "turn left" key to face Chaos (well, his back actually). It happened twice in a row, and I have to get going now so I can't try it out more, but I wanted to ask if this was a known issue.
I can provide my saved game if necessary.
Thanks !

I don't remember fixing a problem like this. But you should try the
lastest version of CSBwin before we get too excited. You will find it at:
http://dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin
inside a file named "Size4Demo.rar".
It is version 9.8v9
If the problem still occurs then I would very much appreciate having
your saved game and a recording that causes the problem.
The problem that I fixed with fluxcages recently had to do only
with display, but it could have caused a crash due to illegal memory
access.

OK, sorry about that, I thought I had the latest version. I did have the previous one with the fluxcages displaying 2 cells away...
There still seems to be a problem : Fuse doesn't seem to operate, each time I cast it Chaos moves out of the cage... The spell seems to "throw him out" of the cage... Or maybe I'm just really lame and slow ?
Edit : To be even more precise, every time I cast Fuse, Chaos moves 1 cell to my right, then 1 cell towards me, which positions him to my right.
Edit 2 : Well I finally managed to Fuse him... Maybe I was really lame and slow, and I didn't remember he was so fast... It seems strange though, that he always makes the same "evasion" movement (except when blocked by walls).

Glad you managed to finish. If you believe that Lord Chaos was
really escaping a fluxcage that was still there, I'd be happy to look at
a saved game and a recording that demonstrates the problem. More than
likely, however, the fluxcage disppeared before you tried to fuse him.

Chaos doesn't have to be inside a fluxcage, just in a position that when he is fused he can only move into a fluxcage to finish the game.

Do you suppose that was his problem? That he was putting a fluxcage
on top of Lord Chaos instead of around him? That would certainly explain
the symptoms of the problem he described.
Florent: The cage goes around Lord Chaos like the iron bars
of a lion cage. It forms 'artificial' walls. In the open areas, you therefore
need four fluxcages to contain the fellow. Against a wall you need three.
In a corner you need two.

OMFG... I never knew about this !
I'm so sorry to bother you with another fake problem... His escape routine did seem kind of weird to me, always zapping to my right straight after I cast Fuse... Oh well, guess that's sort of built in the game.
I'll try to keep my cool next time, anyway thanks for pointing me to the new version, and thanks for the great programming Paul !
