Stats and levels

Great site! I am just dissapointed that people don't tell their version and version nmbers, which is quite important, or so I believe. I have Dungeon Master amiga v.2.0.

Does the abilities (strength, wisdom.. etc) have anything to do with health, stamina and mana? I mean when you get a level up, which are the factors that affect the number of how much health, stamina or mana is increased.

There has been lots of conversation about how the weight of the object affects the experience gained. Which is it? Does the wight matter or not? ;)

And how fighter levels are gained? By the damage given/recieved or the "moves" performed (swing, jab, chop... etc)? And does the monster affect the experience gained or not?

P.S Sorry for the language.

Regdaring stats, I believe Strength affects your weight capacity (ie how long before you go into the yellow), Dexterity may be chance to hit a mob but I'm not sure. Vitality and Wisdom affect hps and mana, respectively. I'm sure someone else can give more detail than that, though :). Stats weren't really something I ever used to look at when I used to play it on the Atari (being about six at the time hehe).

I just studied my old characters (Boris, Tiggy, Chani (twice) and Stamm (twice)), which are all experts on all classes, so the comparing can be easily done. And I noticed that all of them had gained 125 - 135 mana points. Also the stamina and health had increased about the same amount with all of them, but there was a bit more variety. Even the abilities (str, dex, etc...) had raised almost identically.

So, my conclusion was that health, stamina and mana are not related to the abilites. Also the variety with different characters or different games are minimal. So best stats at the beginning are also the best stats in the end. Anyone disagree?

Stat gains msotly seem to depend on the character in question, but even then the only stat I've noticed to differ by a large amount was stamina.
