Extra Portraits (CSBwin)

Post by Ian Clark »

I was trying to add some extra portraits in CSBuild, I created a folder called portraits and added them in a format of portrait***.bmp (***=numbers) using the correct size and pallette. However, when I approach a mirror I get an error box saying "Cannot find CSBgraphics.dat" then the one listing the locations it looked then one saying the portrait could not be loaded, it also displays an error message in the mirror. Can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong?

All 'Custom' graphics, sounds, etc. are stored in
CSBGraphics.dat. You build a CSBGraphics.dat
using the program CSBGraphics.exe. You import
files, give them 'types' (portrait, in your case) and 'IDs'
by which they are referred in the runtime.

@Ian - you might find my potted summary of the steps useful
http://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/vie ... hp?t=23824
(last post in the thread Mon Dec 20).

Reminds me I still haven't quite finished cleaning up the portraits I did for Angel's Egg (has been on hold for the last month due to lack of time). I think all I had left to do was edit them so that RGB(109,109,109) was only used for the background (this colour is substituted to make the glass effect when inside the mirrors).
