Finished DM with reincarnated Tiggy for the first time!

Hi all,
yes, I am in the club now as well. I have finished Dungeon Master last weekend with a reincarnated Tiggy. It wasn't all that hard as I thought at first. Backpack space was more than enough and I never had to carry more than one waterskin and one or two drumsticks to keep me fed up. The first two levels were the hardest actually, because mummies kept killing poor Tiggy with one blow. But after that she got stronger and stronger and ended as
Expert Fighter
Adept Ninja
Adept Priest
LO Master Wizard
right before I got the Firestaff+. I wanted to keep every of the four professions at the same skill level (or close) and I managed to achieve that.
It was a fun ride and thank you all who suggest to do a single game. I just started CSB with the same character. I wonder how well trained Tiggy will be when I beat Chaos once more.
One other thing: I play both DM and CSB in the Amiga version cause it features moving sounds of the creatures and all in stereo. The Amiga emulator is pretty slow though, compared to CSBWin. Is there no way to implement at least the moving sounds of the creatures into CSBWin? I know its a direct port of the Atari ST version which didn't feature that. But, would it be possible?

Congratulations! CSB shouldn't be that hard with one character. I actually tried playing CSB with one reincarnated character (Petal), and I was surprised how few problems I encountered. Good luck!

Thanks Trantor! Yes, I don't expect much problems either. It's just something in want done on my ToDo list
Reincarnating a CSB character will be the next thing I try.

Indeed well done!
What is your H/S/M anyway?
RTC has the step movement etc but of course you couldn't port Tiggy. Maybe when you try the game again with a reincarnated character you can try out RTC

I've just loaded the savegame and my Tiggy is actually a bit better as I stated in my first post:
Expert Fighter
Expert Ninja
Adept Priest
LO Master Wizard
H/S/M is 431/245/178
Not too shabby I think.
To RTC: I've played it a bit, the graphics are very nice and dont pixel that much compared to the Atari ST/Amiga version (especially when creatures are far away). But it just doesn't feel like the DM/CSB I am familiar with. The creatures are a lot more agressive and wicked, it's almost like a complete new game. Of course, I will try to finish RTC someday too, but still it would be very nice to have the creature movement sounds in CSBWin as well.[/b]

Tiggy with 431 HP, thats an achievement in itself.
Has anyone completed the dungeon in the dark yet?

What about completing it by running backwards and only turning round to fight? What about doing that in the dark?

I've never tried it with a reincarnated Tiggy; I've always used a stronger character such as Leif or Halk (they also become great wizards after training). I once tried it with Boris but gave up because he kept getting killed too easily and running out of food.

How dark? The original was never completely dark.
If you think you can do it with your eyes closed, I can
provide a CSBwin that either allows COMPLETE darkness
or the ORIGINAL darkness. I would like to see someone
do it in COMPLETE darkness. Several people have
said they could do it in the dark. I don't believe it.

completing it by running backwards
I could disable the forward and sideways buttons.
That would be funny!

You've been spending too much time talking to zyx, I fear....

Nah...than I'd have said "What about completeing it by running backwards after editing the map to add extra pits and make all the mobs poisonous?"

Lol, I meant Paul - yours was just a cool wacky suggestion, he was the one that took it to the sadistic extend of suggesting restricting keys...and then saying it would be funny...

Ahh lol.

Complete darkness would be impossible. Backwards would be impossible. But not quite complete darkness, now that would be a challenge. Although the cavern (level 7 i think) would be virtually impossible.

I think people were making the point that they know the maps and traps so well they could actually, with the occasional 'oof' get around. Dunno how they think they will battle the critters though...
There would be nothing to stop you from turniogn to face critters, just you would get lots of dmage realising they are there.

Well actually I did say "What about completing it by running backwards and only turning round to fight?"...anyway you'd hear them coming...

I would definately be up for the challenge of pitch black dungeon master with 1 reincarnated character.
By pitch black though perhaps we should 'put up a set of rules' for what pitch black really is.
A) should we draw clickable objects, like door buttons and items on the floor in the immidiate cell (the one the player is standing in). Also, what about pressable buttons, switches, locks? I myself have a CSBWin config to press most of the onscreen buttons with my keyboard, but those of you who still use the mouse would be in HELL trying to find that door button or, better yet, that small tiny little switch in the upper right corner of the wall w/o an activation sound =].
B) By pitch black do we mean constant 'lowest light level' or do we mean 'open photoshop and use paint bucket RGB code 0,0,0'? I'm all for the paint bucket challenge! The only difference between you sleeping and you moving would be the 3 z's on the screen =]
C) Do we want to disable move forward, move left, and move right? I mean, really really really? This isn't a bad idea

. How about Zoolander style? Can't turn left either!
D) What about sounds? Hey, if we're doing pitch black attempts, removing sound completely would just make it that much more challenging (No clicking the screen to hear a thump sound, gotta hit forward and see if you take damage)!

Of course, you wouldn't know if that damage was from walking into a wall or falling down a pit...
And I assumed that "in the dark" just meant "without any light", ie no torches or light spells.
