Certification

For years now Ive thought how cool it would be to have a certificate of Dungeon Mastery.

As you top Guys from the DME have the credibility, how about designing something wicked ?

We send off our save games and get back a certificate for printing out.

That might be cool...when you finish Might and Magic VI (and probably the others too) you get a certificate...the file is created listing party members, their levels, and time taken to complete the game. The file auto-creates itself in the directory for you to print out at your leisure.
Something like this for DM might add to the satisfaction of those people who are still only playing it for the first time. More so for those who, say, have been getting mauled by the Purple Worms every time they're tried playing...
Not that we know anyone like that, of course...

Yeah I thought so, but I never actually finished either of them, only my dad did, so I only vaguely remember it 'cause it was a few years ago.

I assume some people on this site are in contact occasionally with the original creators of DM. (God like men) How cool would it be if they endorsed it ?

Wasn't there a thread somewhere in which someone had discovered the location of errm is it Wayne Holder and Doug Bell, one of them was working with something to do with bomb or weapons or something...and their info was private implying they didn't want to be bothered about stuff like DM again. I think the post was by Gambit or someone...

Real bombs and weapons ? Lets not argue with them then !

I will try and find the thread out of interest.

Thx Gambit. I can't remember where I saw it, but doesn't Andy Jaros still get involved in DM discussions from time to time ?

Fair enough ! Btw Big day (very off topic but Im excited!)

My Atari 520 ST arrived from Ebay today. And yes The original 1988 DM disc worked fine. Even more pleasingly my 18 year old save disc also working yippeeee. Many years since that dude walked the dungeons !

Only character I have ever had with 999 health and stamina. Archmaster wizard, Priest and Fighter. Only 5 level ninja though.

Happy days

Wow, that's cool

I think all my old DM saved games were shot when I tried to play them on the A600 I got for cheap a while ago.

Yeah, I was very doubtful this would work. Very pleasing.

While digging around I found two unused programme discs of DM and CSB from a reissue of the games in 1993. These working also. Been languishing in the loft for decades. Well a decade and a half.

Big nostalgia day.

(I wonder if wizballs gonna work)

Froud, would you make disk images of your versions with PASTI ? (see here: http://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/vie ... hp?t=24510 )

Wizball was just, well, completely nuts! I miss my ST. There is a corpse of one in my loft, and two Amigas.

Sure Christophe, Not sure what it means but I will check it out. Will contact you with any problems.

Maybe Paul Stevens wouldn't mind adding some code to CSBWin that creates a graphics file of a certificate. That is, if anyone with the proper skills is willing to put it together...

Good news Paul, Wizball worked just fine. That cat !

Gauntlet 2 also ok. But 2 player mode is vital. Will have to teach the wife to play. Whether she wants to or not !

Those ST games were brilliant. The ST Gunship game is still the best balance between flightsim/arcade I reckon.
