In the DM PC i could:

1) train fighting while attaking doors (destructable or not). It gives fighter or ninja lvl (bare hand attac or with a weapon). It was resonable. Using doors as a manekin :).

2) gain priest lvl's while warcrying. It was the easyiest way do teach spellcasting totally manaless characters at a very early stage of the game.
There was a joke: wonna be a priest? Then your good must hear you. Practice then :)

Why it's diffrent? (at least last time i checked it?) and:

3) why old RTC gamesaves aren't compatible :(

It's different because it is coded from scratch to reasonably resemble DM - these differences just didn't get noticed.

In what way is this different? Are you not getting any experience at all, or are you simply not getting as much as you would think. IN PC DM there was a an experience multiplier for being clsoe to monsters - I think doors or open air were exactly the same for training purposes, just doros felt better? (Could be wrong)

Old RTC games should be compatible now (back to v0.28 I think)... but until there is a v1.0 then this is an under development game, and as such, though its a shame, old games may not work with new engines.

In quick reply...

1) You can! In fact, you can train anywhere, not just under doors. As Beowuuf says, though, you'll get more EXP for fighting monsters, but you do get some for just slashing away at thin air (or doors).

2) Again, you can!

3) They are! (for versions within the last 2 years or so).

Can I ask what version you are running with?

1) and 2). if it works, than i'm shocked. Must check it in the new RTC.

and 3):

Well, i was talking about an year old version. RTC just didn't see earlier saves. I tried to change the filenames (newer version is making CAPITAL names :), but it gives nothing.
