Sorry nope, not seen it.

I must have missed Trant's earlier message about the Witcher. I've heard of the games (not played them) but I didn't realise they were based on a series of books! Had a quick Wikipedia check -- sounds pretty interesting and worth checking out. I have a 2 week holiday coming up soon, so I can see some new reading material being purchased... :-)

Yes, I was planning on trying out some of the Witcher games and books myself. They sound interesting.

Anyone seen The Dark Knight Rises? Saw it yesterday, and was really impressed. Normally for me superhero movies are good, but not that impressive. More like a bit of fun, soon forgotten and no wish to re-watch, but this Batman series really was a cut above it's competitors (for me at least). The Dark Knight was really fantastic, so many great scenes. The Dark Knight Rises had a very tough act to follow, but it worked. I have to say that I did not enjoy it quite as much as TDK, but I thought it was better than Batman Begins.

Yup, seen it a couple of times now, and someone at work saw it yesterday too, so been re-living it. I thought it was good that it actually completed a triology by linking back to the previous films, and all in all I enjoyed it as an ending. It couldn't compete with the Dark Knight, but it definitely gave a solid and fun ending to the Nolan frnachise.

Still not seen it and probably won't get time now before it leaves the cinemas -- August unbelievably busy!

I've seen it as well and found it excellent, except Marion Cotillard's acting...

You leave those big brown eyes alone! :P I heard another discussion actually going after Matthew Modine for his acting!

Ditto! Thought it was very good. Good story. Some critic said it felt a bit like a Christopher Nolan movie with a sense of humour, and I thought that summed it up quite nicely!

Anyone read the newest additions to the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever group of books?
I've read the first two sets of Chronicles, plus the first three of The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant.
These were written by Stephen R. Donaldson.

The first two sets were great reads.
This final set is a bit difficult to follow at times.
Still, like Star Wars or Star Trek, I'll take whatever I can get.

1.The Runes of the Earth – (2004)
2.Fatal Revenant – (2007)
3.Against All Things Ending – (October 2010)
4.The Last Dark – (expected 2013)
