Status doesn't change even if I choose Reincarnating on v0.39CSB.

As in health/stamina/mana? If so, then yes, it would be a bug : )

Yes, looks like a bug has crept in there. The beneficial reincarnation rules appear to get applied all the time now (they do on SS & CSB). Whilst I asked for a more generous system, this is probably too generous
