How to align pits / stairs between levels

I don't know how other people use the editor, or if there's a better way, but, I find it rather difficult to align pits and stairs. I've always found the best way is to quickly press the stairs button to go to a new level, and then slide my mouse pointer over the pit, so it's in the right place when the new level comes up.

Unfortunately, on my new PC, which is a lot faster, this is harder to do! :D

So, what I'm asking for, is if the editor could wait ten seconds if one shift-clicks, or right-clicks, or whatever, the stairs up or stairs down buttons. :)

You can use <alt><l><d> and <u> with the keyboard to cycle up and down fast

Oh!

In that case, never mind :D

Erm, or you could just use the absolute co-ordinates to guide your mouse into the right position. That's exactly what they're for!

Oh, they are absolute! I thought they were relative cause I never mis-align my dungeon levels!

But that involves looking at numbers and remembering and stuff... :P

In the top left corner of the editor screen:

Local coordinates = coordinates relative to the top left of the level.
Offset coordinates = as above, but adjusted by the level offset.

They've been there since DMute, so the best part of a decade...please don't say you've never noticed! Muppet.
