Sarcophagi as alcoves?

I was wondering, after playing the Mummy corridor part of the DMII demo, would it be workable (or even worthwhile) having the Sarcophagus act like an alcove, that could hold items or monsters?

Perhaps you would click on them to "open" them, revealing their contents... whether it be good or bad.

You can easily create a complex sarcophigus using existing mechanics tailored as you need, stealing the sarcophogus graphics. Some has already created a version for an upcoming dungeon infact...
