At the beginning of DM2 when you can pick the members of your party.

If you click on the chamber that is holding Equus, instead of seeing the
"Latch" that will open the chamber I get a screen with some random gold pieces.

You can click on it to revive him, however, once revived and you go to his inventory screen, instead of seeing the customary FOOD and WATER bars, I still see those random gold coins.

That's the coin box, it's open since he has it in his hand, remove it and you can see the latch, remove it on reviving him and it also goes away

As Beowuuf says, that's not a bug - that's the coin box...

Having said that, I've made two changes for V0.42 to help prevent confusion:

1) Any containers (chests / coin boxes etc) will not automatically be put into the right hand of mirror characters.

2) If you do (manually) put a container into the mirror characters right hand, then clicking on it will do what you expect (e.g. move the items in the container about) rather than performing the underlying re-incarnate / resurrect actions.
