Hmm, right now I don't have the time to go for an example screenshot, but in V0.40 I noticed that it can still happen that monster bitmaps shine through wall bitmaps. If you have for example

MWW
WEW
WPW

M = purple worm
E = empty tile
W = wall
P = party

You can sometimes see a worm's tail shine through the walls.

A couple of weird bitmap positioning bugs in the demo of 0.42: Worms are still too low and show beneath walls. Alcoves with items in seem to show the items on the floor below the wall when viewed from the side (a vorpal blade in this case):

Fixed both issues (monsters and items in alcoves) for V0.42
