I also posted this in the RTC DM2 thread but it seems more appropriate here:

I do wonder about the monster AI, after playing the DM2 demo: All the glops were waiting directly outside the door when I opened it, even though 2 of the start points are in the glade and they shouldn't have any idea that I'm there at all!

I guess you could argue that they have a good sense of smell or something, but it still seems as if they have innate knowledge of where the party is and use this to their advantage, and I really don't agree with this.

To solve this issue it might be worthwhile to make RTC's monsters' perception behave more closwely to FTL, in respect to range, direction and light level modifier. After all, there are useful information about that on the Enyclopaedia.

Do you have any comment on mine/Lunever's observation GG? Because despite all the extra stuff you've added in for AI, it still seems as if everything simply tries to gravitate towards the player, even if they have no possible way of knowing where you are.

Erm, that's just a bug in the calculation of the view range - doh

Now fixed for V0.40.
