AB Ful bomb thread (split thread)

Well, my solution to spells back when I was 12 or so and had the original Apple IIGS was to go into the kid dungeon, get the high-mana heroes, and fool around until I came up with spells that worked, then write them down. I seem to recall being able to make FUL-bombs in there, but now it apparently doesn't work.
I never got much past level 4 back then though.
I was fooling around in the Zoo a couple weeks ago and tried the same thing...

11001001 and anyone else: There have always been people who seem to remember Ful-bomb-making, yet no one knows for sure anymore, especailly after all that time. My guess is that is may have been in some beta, but did not make it into the released version; so, does anyone know for sure how this is supposed to be? If such a beta exists, does anyone still have it?

Ful bomb creation was in an early version but removed. I'm pretty sure that it never showed up in any of the retail versions.

I think it may have done, although I can't be sure and don't have any evidence to back it up except remembering making Ful bombs myself. Unless there was an early release with an Amiga magazine or something? No clue!

That's what I'm talking about - does anyone actually still have a copy of such an early version that allows you to make Ful-bombs; if so, by what spell is it done?

I think we are goign to get back to where people are goign to go 'I'm sure I made one...didn't I use the Gor rune or soemthing, it's not used for anything else...
The last I heard you needed to use a Ven bomb and ful gor or soemthign to make the ful bomb... I don't know anyone that has ever come forward categorically sayign they foudn their old scrap of paper with spells and there is the FUL bomb spell etc :(

The point of my question is: Once upon a time I had an Atari ST AND an Amiga at the same time. Like most kids/adolescents without income I had lots of cracked, copied games, many of them being smuggled out beta-versions (albeit no one called them beta back then), and while I think I may have had an Amiga DM version with a possibility to create Ful-bombs, after all these years I honestly can't tell anymore. It may have been some smuggled out beta, it may have been some modified fan crack, or it may be mere imagination (especially since making Ful-bombs would be so logical considering you can make Ven-bombs) - after all I did dream about Dungeon Master more than once, so who knows? What I WANT to know here is not the bazillionst version of "Uh, I think I remember there was a Ful-bomb spell", but rather if anybody among all us forumers has some hard facts about this issue.
So...? AND DON'T DARE TO RELPLY ANOTHER "Um, I think I maybe remember making Ful-bombs but I ain't sure 'bout it anymore".

I think to make a Ful Bomb you have to pause the game and type "LORD LIBRASULUS SMITES THEE DOWN"
it doesn`t work! But CTRL + ALT + DEL should kill all monsters in a game, including Lord Chaos !!!

Is a Ful bomb a little red bottle? Or do other spells make red bottles too? Cause I remember some...

A Ful Bomb looks like a Ven Bomb, only it's red and has the a Ful rune on it instead of a Ven rune.

I think I remember very clearly that I never found a spell for creating a FUL bomb. I know for a fact that I tried every possible spell with an empty flask in hand, to no effect. I can't speak for leaked beta versions (though I have to admit that I had a cracked copy for the Amiga myself), but I suppose this has become an urban legend, similar to those people who claim to have found gasoline for the chainsaw in Maniac Mansion.

If ful bombs are the only ones that are red, I remember making them, on the atari version. So they did exist. And I am sure it was the real game, not a pirated copy.
Thanks for the tips about the yellow wizard eye monsters. I'll see how I go!

Strength potions (ful bro ku?) are also red, but without a symbol.

They are? I always remember them being a blue liquid in a bottle with the the Ku rune on it. Granted, I don't use them often, but often enough to not remember anything to do with them being red!

The only red potions I can think of are the Zo Liqueur and Sar Wine in Conflux...I thought all the DM potions were blue with, as Lee says, the appropriate rune on them.

Strength potions in DM2 are red, that's what he means, but we are talking about DM...and Ful bombs...again...without any concret evidence...again...

Actually, I recently realised another reason why Ful bombs might have been considered too powerful to make on mass in DM - range. A ful bomb of x strength keeps it's power even if you lob it at something far away, whereas a fireball spell gets stripped. Not a big thing, just a thing I realised...
Edit: And looking at the threads below, it also hints that you would do more damage anyway with a potion than the equivalent spell...
Previous threads if you wonder why I'm rolling my eyes (cough don't look at one of the originaors)

..plus you can carry a mega fireball around without having to use mana in the first place.
I wonder whether a ful bomb gets destroyed when it
a) hits the party (bcs of a turn-teleporter for instance)
b) is thrown.(looses delta enery thingy and falls to the ground
without hitting a wall or monster..??).

I can remember making FUL-bombs in DM, too.
I think the runes were FUL GOR, but I'm not sure.
