About distance travelled

Me and my dad just been wondering - it says the distance travelled through the dungeon is measured in kilometres, but how far is a metre in the dungeon? It's obviously not the width of a single square, or the step-count would match up to the distance-travelled count.

I believed one tile = 2m (just over the size of a person lying down) but then that should give a correspnpondance to the step count...

Yeah is what we thought...doesn't seem to work out if one tile is three metres, either...

Oh, unles it's the old D&D convention, one square = 10 feet, which would then convert not quite to 3m, so the kilometer and step count would be out
I wish I could shake the feeling GG has actually said explicitly what the step count /distance ration in another thread - maybe do a search for it?

I think it's PI meters per step.
Dunno why; I must have been feeling a bit warped the day that bit of code was written

Lol, I was thinking that that would be close to 10 feet = 3meters and thought I was mad!

I think it's PI meters per step.
Had you been going round a dungeon in circles?

There's 0.304m to a foot, so it's almost a good conversion at 0.314m to 10 feet : )

No, but I heard the title is misleading and that the movie is actually about the number "Phi", not "Pi".

It is about Pi, and it is one of the best films I've ever seen.
