Deep Dungeon - stuck!

Post by Sabreman »

I couldn't find anything in any existing threads about Deep Dungeon, but I'm completely stuck and have been for a couple of days. Hopefully it's not a bug with the dungeon itself...

I'm at the 'Find a way out' section, at the 'Poison Chambers'. I have a closed portcullis behind me, a closed one at the end of the corridor section and three or four screamers locked inside rooms behind portcullises, standing on pressure pads. I haven't found the necessary runes to cast poison spells which would travel through the portcullises, I have no throwable weapons, and can find no switches or fake walls. I'm completely stumped! I'm playing the version compiled for 0.32 on the 0.32 engine.

Can anyone help?

Does anyone know if this has been compiled for the latest version of RTC?
I received this error the first time I tried to save my game:

Code: Select all

RTC (V0.43) Diagnostic file - Sat Oct 07 20:58:27 2006

Error:
  an access violation exception.

Stack Dump:
  RTCModule.ObjectHintApplies();
  RTC.ProgStateSaving();
  RTC.DoFrame(int 109);
  RTC.WinMain();

Might be a bug in the 0.43 saved game process, try dowloading 0.42 for now (go to the link for 0.43, and then substitue the name)

Still getting Deep errors

Okay, I tried it in 0.42. I selected a single character & just saved.
Here's the error text:

Code: Select all

RTC (V0.42) Diagnostic file - Sun Oct 15 17:40:43 2006

Error:
  an access violation exception.

Stack Dump:
  RTCModule.ObjectHintApplies();
  RTC.ProgStateSaving();
  RTC.DoFrame(int 109);
  RTC.WinMain();
It's looking more like a version problem (when applying hints?).

Any ideas? Or is George around?
