DM -> CSB

Hello everyone,
I just finished DM with CSBLinux (Thanks again for your work Paul !) and I'd liked to use my savegame to play to chaos (17 years after my last attempts...). The problem is : I can't manage to import the DAT file from DM into CSB. Every time I try, it gives me an error. Is there a file format problem ? What am I doing wrong ?
PS : I know I could start in the prison and select a new party, I just want to use my DM savegame
Thank you all !

It is supposed to work like this:
When you use the 'Utility' to specify a
save game, you specify a save game from your
DM game. Your characters are then imported
from your DM play into the CSB dungeon.
If that is what you have done and it does
not work then you will need to send me
your DM save game so that I can fix it.

I'll send you the file in a few hours.
For info, I used the version 98. I don't know it it helps...
Thanks !

You need to move your DM saved game from the dm folder to the csbwin folder, but otherwise it shoudl work as detailed by Paul

I didn't elaborate, sorry, but I did that too.
I even tracked wich files were opened by the app : I'm desperate

Can you detail step by step what you are doing? Maybe we can spot where the wheels are coming off with what you are doing, or with CSBwin
And welcome to the forums btw

You will certainly have trouble if you try
to load a game created with a newer version
of CSBwin.
For example, save with version 98.1 and
load with 98.0. Probably won't work. Always
load a saved game with the same or newer
version of CSBwin.

Well, I used the same version all along: it didn't changed during the few days I played
Thanks for the welcoming beowuuf.
Short : I moved the DAT file into the modules/chaos strikes back-atari/ directory, launch ./CSBLinux, went to "Utility", selected the corresponding file and... "Saved game error".
I also naively tried to "Resume" it, but Chaos launched it normally : into the DM environment ! That was evident, but somewhat disturbing for someone who always played the games with his "distinct" Atari disks
Paul, I just sent you the saved game, maybe there's something you can do...

launch ./CSBLinux
Hmmmmm. Perhaps something is wrong
with ./CSBLinux. I don't run Linux here.
Only CSBwin.exe in Windows.
At any rate. I took your save game 'CSBGAME.DAT'
and put it into a directory with 'config.txt', 'mini.dat',
'CSBwin.exe' (version 9.957 available at:
http://www.dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/
I then started CSBwin.exe, used the utility
functions to create a new game, and ran it just fine.
As I say, if the Linux version does not work then
we need to talk to the folks who created it.
As a possible workaround, I have posted the new
game I created as ImportProblem.zip
It worked !

Sorry for the [/b] at the end, guess that Konqueror doesn't handle the JS code that well...

Flubb:
just curious: what stats does your characters had when you finished DM and imported them into CSB?

I stopped training the guys when they were all lo master (fighter and ninja) or hum master (priest and wizard).
I vaguely recall it was sufficient to start a new CSB quest.
Well, I hope so

Ah, smart idea, since lots of people seem to have trouble with this...(including me)...I'll have to look at that when I get a chance...

I downloaded that file, and it worked with 9.957...is it a version issue that's preventing it from happening sometimes?
