strange. take a look at displaying wallset method in ST:

PC:

and in Amiga:

can you see the difference?

- ok, take a look at the edges of the nearest (main) wall,
- also, take a look how the far walls on the left and right are displayed,
- the Amiga/PC versions has the main wall 1 pixel smaller (from the left) than ST (comparing to the ground).

Yeah, they rebuilt the wall drawing method for CSB and PC DM uses the CSB engine.

Anyway, we're getting off topic...

So we start a new topic. ;)

Anyway, that's not quite correct.

The way shown in CSBwin, with the short, dark far wall is actually the "old" way, used by DM engine 2.x. The way used in PC DM is the "new" way, used by 3.x. This can be seen in Amiga CSB, too.

Thus, it'd be more proper to say it was rebuilt for PC DM. CSB on the ST uses an old engine, and uses the old method.

I`m not only talking about the perspective; take a look at the edges of the main (nearest) wall (in front of a party); in ST version it`s sharp, while in Amiga/PC ones it doesn`t. It`s quite hard to see at first glance, but it proves that there was a different wallset displaying method, not only perspective corrections.

I think that in Amiga/PC versions the wallset has been built in block-by-block way, just like in DM2, while in ST DM/CSB version that was more complicated.

Well, as I stated before, the more significant difference isn't the platform but the version number of the game engine, but, other than that, you're correct. Version 2.x has one long "front" wall piece that sections are clipped out of in order to draw the front and left/right side walls. This can be seen looking through CSBwin's graphics.dat.
