DSB Editor

Firstly I would like to say great work on the editor. I've been tinkering with DSB for some time on and off mainly doing graphical modifications - for both DSB and DMJ.

I've been using the editor since yesterday, and I have grasped the basics easily enough. I was going through some of your screenshots, to get a better understanding, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to release some "demo" dungeons.

It would allow the beginner a better understanding of how everything is working, from the basics to more complex mechanisms.

In DMJ, you could examine the default dungeon, to get a better understanding of the mechanisms at work, would it be possible to do the same here?

I had made a quick demo yesterday, but I can't load it with the new version... :(
I'm making a new one to test the new version... but it won't save you much time if you have to wait for me, you'd be as fast as doing one yourself.

PS: I liked your new graphics... maybe everyone should team up and try to make a full set of 640x480xtrue_color graphics for D(M/C)SB...

Or maybe I'm crazy !

Thank you!

Yeah, I'd like to. But at the moment, it's a decision whether to spend my time working on the editor and working on demos.
But I completely agree with you - a demo dungeon, and possibly a set of tutorials - would help get over the learning curve. And I'll make one up at some point (if someone doesn't beat me to it, and anyone is more than welcome).

This is actually a seperate issue, because the demo dungeon that Sophia made up isn't limited to the "default" set of scripts, archtypes, and such, that are included with DSB's base files - its for showing off DSB's (very cool) features. I'd like to do this too -but it would be a tutorial on how to use the editor with DSB's extendibility.

And, just to note, I love the graphic work you've done with DSB. I've only seen screenshots, but that wallset and the changes to the inventory screen were amazing.

And not to change the topic of this thread, but:
I had made a quick demo yesterday, but I can't load it with the new version...
That's an error, I think. I don't recall making changes to the core data...
Can I ask, what happened when you tried to load it? Did you get an error message, or did DDM just crash and burn?

I got two different answers :

One is :
Unable to find assembly 'DSBuilder, Version=0.0.1.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

The other is by PM, it's the details.

Yeah, I got it, and I replied. I know exactly what the problem is - the assembly's name was changed to actually match the program, 'cause I'm losing my memory and completely forgot that saved dungeons looked for it....

My dungeon was rather small, so it's ok :D

But please, take a simple assembly name like just "DDM" and stick to it !
