I've caught up with the HTMLifying too -- up to date to #41 now.

Right, lets get this moving a bit quicker, there was far too much fannying about with pies and wine!

I edited your last post Beo to go to 51 instead of 43. 43 is the DEFINITE leaving behind of Syra. If the party is making a choice about it in your post, they simply now need to progress. I also updated the notes where you'd added that in 43 Syra was POSSIBLY left behind -- removed the possibly.

Ok, fair enough!

So in 43 you could still be looking for a solution to freeing Syra?

I'm sure there is some option where it is suggetsed you are moving on to leave Syra behind that also points to 43, will have a quick look for it later

Don't think so. 43=Gothmog convinces them to leave Syra behind.

EDIT: Hmm.. actually, this has got a bit messed up. I shouldn't have used 43 to have Gothmog leave her behind. 43 should have been the option to investigate the passage before opening the door, maybe to find another way around to Syra.

I think I introduced Gothmog's decision to simplify the decision tree, otherwise 43 could have led to a whole bunch of other stuff while 51 was the REAL progress and we'd back to the pie/wine chaos of pissing about with too many options and not getting anywhere.

Suggestions?

I'm confused as well, lol...I think I've actualyl only posted twice to the thread so far, the rest of the time being too confused/knackered to try and think of something decent to post as one of the choices. Oh well, it's all fun anyway :D.

Lol, will try and adjust the initial post at some point to make it less confusing

I reckon making sure dealt with items and conditions don't remain listed for a start! Must update the summary too with some decision trees

"3.14157 Dubious oblong pie gained (if not eaten) " should now read from 54:
"3.14157 Dubious oblong pie gained (if not eaten or shoved in a monsters mouth)"

Also from 49, you could have in your backpack:
"bits of tinsel, a string of flashing fairy light and a fluffy sheep"

For 57 and 58, feel free to add in each a "dark, deep pit.", for a little convergence.

Jeepers! Good that you had the energy to do this, the story had certainly died off. I've been both very busy and very ill recently so haven't been able to contribute.

I haven't read all your new entries so I will do so when I catch up with the HTMLing at some point.

I do seem to recall a flaw a while back though to do with pits. Am I right in thinking two different paths ended up leading to the same pit? I seem to recall at the time that this was wrong...

not a flaw if the pit fall is leading to the same underground area

i had a third link like that to reinforce that falling down anywhere = same section

Wow Ian, looking more at the cart scene, that's alot of fun cool work. I love that sequence!

Anyway, can I humbly suggest that the Lift idea is a linking idea for the current open areas. That at the end of the cart sequence is one door to the lift, that the corridor beyond the portcullis leads to another lift area, and of course the giant is guarding the lift too.

That in the lift, you can actually bounce between these three getting on/off the lift sections, and there is also a further higher area (dead end or store room or something) and that taking the lift further down is the moving on of the main path.

Just a thought anyway :D

Ok, just to either kick start this project again, or to ensure it gets some form of ending, I did an Ian and created a bunch of sections to get us passed the current area.

So, there we are, one main path with the party armed with fire armour and Heroic Weapons, some items possible from the store but also possible to use up all the other items if thought necessary.
