The AJAX chat feature is quite cool and we can now show who is online when you visit the forums: if you're logged into the forum, the Chat icon appears at the top of the page and shows a number in brackets indicating the number of people in Chat. If you hover over it, user names are also displayed.

This number is only accurate if you LOGOUT OF CHAT when you are done. Simply closing the browser (or the tab if you opened chat in another tab) won't log you out.

So please remember to LOGOUT OF THE CHAT WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED.

Does that log you out of the forum too?

Nope.

I've demoted this thread, it's a bit much as a global announcement and since we added the warning into the rules on chat itself, hopefully it's not needed here.
