Unless I'm mistaken, I'll find another pair of speed boots soon, right?

I'm using the lightning bolt to fight the cursed knights, this time.

I try to play in spurts, so the game lasts. Meeeeemmmmrrriiiieeees!

Lightning bolts are pretty useless against Knights. Best attack methods are the door drop, Diamond Edge and the Bezerk option on Hardcleave and Inquisitor.

My memory is failing -- I can't remember where all the speedboots are. Let's see: one pair on scorpion level behind an illusion, one pair on the Clockwise level behind three illusions near the exit stairs. Can't remember the other two without looking at a map! Gosh, there was a time when this stuff just rolled off the tongue!

Lightning bolts will eventually kill the cursed knights. (patience)
I really haven't noticed any other spell effecting them.

I have two pairs of speed boots.

Pair one: The fake wall, after another is opened by a switch on the other side of the hall, just before the scorpion section, on the floor before dropping down to clockwise. (whew, took me long enough to explain that one)

Pair two: Spider regeneration area.

Pair three? Near the end of the level, before dropping down to the cursed knight section? I'll have to do a little sight seeing again. :?

HOLD THE PHONE!!!! I went sightseeing, and BEHOLD, I found the third pair, just where you said they'd be.

My life has a new sense of purpose. Gusto, that's what I feel, GUSTO.

Thank you, thank you, Gambit. You're my hero for the week.

Now, just explain how I can herd the dragon, a couple of scorpions, and maybe a few other beasties, to different floors, so I can start a DM Beastie zoo, and you'll have my undying appreciation for a lifetime.

Pair four? (in the turqoise key area?)

Most attacks will kill any monster after enough time, but we know for certain from looking at the source code that lightning bolts are not very effective against Knights. Quicker methods of killing them come from the hand weapons I mentioned.

And Beo, he listed the other two. You're wlecome. :)

It can't be done -- DM limits the number of different types of monsters you can have on each floor, and even if you could somehow herd the dragon to the scorpion level, it would die instantly.

But you could always just make your own dungeon in one of the editors and put whatever monsters you like in it ;).

Not in the original game engine -- there's a limit to how many different types can be put on each level. You'd need a modern clone like RTC or DSB to have no limits on monster placement.

There was an original dungeon where all the monsters were laid out on each level, for some reason (I think experimentation)

I may have to do some map peeking. I wonder how many "other" treasures I've missed? Surely not many, but even that one pair of boots...

Ahhh, I spent a few minutes just bouncing off walls in delight.
(in the game, in the game)
