...on a spur of the moment 'why not' and went to see Julia Nunes perform at the Old Queen's Head in Islington (she's doing a small UK tour coming back to London in a little bit)
She's a 20-odd year old student come singer/songerwriter from Canada, who got big on youtube playing the ukelelee and guitar and covering songs and performing her own stuff. Bubbly personality and great voice, even though she had a cough that was affecting her voice she had the whole crowd enjoying themselves.

Supporting her was a local lass, Lucy Rose, and Greg Holden whose CD I bought after listening to him. Again, both are great voiced singer/songwriters, just them and a guitar, and both good too.
