Amazing (The Game Factory 2)

This is a little bit of fun for all that maybe interested.
I made a maze using Dungeon Master wall textures in "The Game Factory 2"
To see if I could recreate the game to a limited extent.
No monsters or doors just a maze. :roll:

Wow! :shock:

I've "finished" the little maze - and it looks AmaZing! Well done! It gives a very good DM feeling. :D

I've never heard of The Games Factory, and I'll have to look at it closer when I have some time. How hard was it to build such a maze? And moreover, are there possibilities of adding other things like doors, items, creatures, triggers, actuators, etc. - I mean building a whole Dungeon Master game? I've downloaded TGF2 and looked into it briefly, but didn't understand anything.

The short anwser is yes you could. For instance make a monster image (as an active object), when a detection icon is over a marker (you would also have to make ) in the map show the monster as the player gets closer the moster image is changed for a larger one etc...

If you want to change the maze layout :-
in the frame editor (Ctrl+M)
set the Grid (to help positioning)
View\Grid Setup\ size width 16 hight 16
View\Grid Setup\ Snip to Grid (x)
View\Grid Setup\ View Grid (x)

Then try dragging a wall block (in the map view) in front of the player
( You will have to move the gray wall hider panel to see the map underneath :) )

and run to test (F8)

OK, thanks. Don't have time to do it now, though.

Hmmm, inserting an image of a monster is one thing, but implementing a behaviour of the monster is another - not talking about actions. I'm not sure if you can do all this in TGF2, but - go ahead! Try to put some more things in your little maze! There's a lot of work for you there! :)
