In CSBwin, EVERY kind of monster can walk through visible-nonblocking wall, IF HE SAW YOU DID IT (they chase you), no matter how his AI flags are set. It depends only on its sightrange. Checked.
Normally they don`t walk through these kind of walls.
In other words you cannot hide by escaping through the false wall to another hall/room when monsters is chasing you (unless you`re out of his sightrange when you`re escaping him through that false wall).
I wonder if it`s the same in RTC?
Is there a good article of monster AI in RTC somewhere?
Can monsters cross false walls when they chase?

Ha ha ha hah ahahahahaa ha!Adamo wrote:Is there a good article of monster AI in RTC somewhere?
That'll be a no.
If you check through the RTC VERSIONS thread in the RTC general section, the bug fixes sometimes reveal interesting information, but other than that, it's all guesswork or trial and error for dungeon designers.
Re: Can monsters cross false walls when they chase?
hmm.. there might be a new section added in RTCwiki/monsters called monster`s AI (or somewhere on the forum). People should put their (confirmed) observations and thoughts about monster`s behaviour. Or compare RTC`s expected AI with CSBwin AI like I did in my "all monster characteristic" thread:

I`m curious about the comparition of AI differences in both engines.

It would be interesting to set this flag for monsters that run away easily.Adamo wrote:...

If their lair is being invaded by the party, they could flee out of the lair because they already know their surroundings. Maybe lord chaos set strict orders not to reveal hidden passages...
anyway just an off topic brainfart.
AI comparison would be something
